He was performing
Maybe on health.
He performed well, stabilizing the Economy and taking t out of the doldrums, bringing down inflation from around 22% to 15% and paying more than $10 billion including all our debts to the IMF.
He has minimally grown the Economy too within 3 years.
He really tried but have health issues.

You better perish that thought.
That's how incompetent fools were elected in LP and today all of them have decamped to APC or about to, without any single achievement or impact.

You guys should stop blaming the Power minister for power problems in Nigeria

UNtil all of you NIgerians are ready to pay cost reflective tarrif, they can make Jesus christ minister of power and we will still be in darkness.

POwer has been privatised since 2013, and all your goverments since then have been starving it of funds in the name of keeping power cheap. You people also clap for those who chase away people that come to disconnect those that steal power.and you hail the power theives..and meter bypassers......and you expect light?

You can abuse me now, but facts is facts...and yes, I do not like the power minister, na politican, but facts is facts.

I mean in 2013, GEJ had a professor of electricity in charge of the ministry, yet we were having groid collapses and power issues, because of lack of cost reflective tarrif

I mean until band A came along, all the country was underpaying for power. ANd after band A came, na only 20% of the country wey dey pay for power at cost reflective rate, the rest underpay and now 20% don't even pay for the power they use.

And people like it that way, as do your politicans...meaning no money or investment to improve things (if you had a billion dollars, you go put am for power supply, where you won't see ROI because people think that electiricty must be free of charge).

So at the end, you end up in darkness.

And again, until cost reflective tarrifs are in place, or until you are ready to tolerate borrowing of up to 20-30 trillion naira annually for at least 5 years, ie at most 150 trillion naira over 5 years to fix things, nothing will change.

And yes, there is corruption, because when you starve a business of its right to set prices, they will make money by wuru wuru ways. And yes, that is why you have to buy wires , poles and transformers, because most of you don't want to pay the cost reflective tarrif that would enable the discos and gencos buy all that and fix it for you.

See the problem? Oh no, na to blame generator people, and even Atiku self..lol. As if Atiku dey sell all the generators for nigeria.

Never ever support a government like tinubu that believes in setting prices.

I mean, see our telecoms sector. When it was NITEL, and when people were paying government price, the sector was bad. Then GSM came in and service improved because GSM companies were allowed to charge cost reflective tarrifs.

Even then NTEL, the government run GSM company, at once point, MTN and econet were charging twice of what NTEL was charging....which meant they could afford better services compared to NTEL...which crashed. Today it exists as a phoenix company that only offers internet service.
Infact you need more than abuses, you need to be flogged. Seems you are benefitting sth from the Govt otherwise you won't 'misyarn' like this. What has the increment in tariffs achieved so far ?
You don't see anything to talk about the incompetent generating companies sone of them have no business being licensed to.operate.
Is this ur unintelligent assumption reason the Aso villa opted to spend billions to migrate to Solar while the masses are left to cater for themselves?

Why did he fail to make a dollar equal to N300 in the short term as promised by Bọbọ Chicago, before he was allowed to hit the ground running, after fighting for power and grabbing it?

He failed in this regard despite borrowing $3.3 billion from Afreximbank secured by future oil revenues in an SPV account facilitated by Elumelu’s UBA at a ridiculous 11.85%?

How did he really try, if he was borrowing more than his APC predecessor and his PDP predecessors, who didn’t remove subsidy to hike petrol price but gave us widespread prosperity in deregulation and privatisation with less inflation and less insecurity huh

With which money do you want people to use to pay for power?

Entrepreneurship practically in a state of comatose, farming sector under fulani siege, transport business under fulani seige, loans from bank at 35% interest rate, contractors have not been paid since 2023.

So how exactly can you pay this bills? You, what you doing for a living if you are not sharing our money? You can't be an evil or civil servant and talk like this.

Very intelligent post.

The reluctance to let these guys charge what they really need to charge, is political.

Tinubu would have done it, but the fuel subsidy removal has already had serious effects on the population, and he's still receiving blowback for that.

To now add liberalised pricing for electricity on top would have been political suicide.

I think he'll do it in his next term, if he wins.

I suspect he's thinking "let's get the economy moving first by ending fuel subsidies, absorbing that pain, and then (being a politician) waiting till my next term to liberalise electricity pricing, since I have no more election to contest afterwards, so people will abuse me then for the high cost of power, but at least they will have light, and incomes will keep rising due to my policies, and eventually the bills will become affordable".
Income keep rising where ?
In Lalaland I guess? Point of correction income is not rising at all it is even worse than stagnant it has plummeted badly.

Mind you It has to rise and make sense., it has to rise to atleast quarter of the level that those in UK, US and Europe are been paid, since your man is determined to make the hapless people earning weak naira to pay for goods and services at the rate and prices those in the advanced countries like UK and US and the Euro countries are paying at.

That's only fair only fair enough, logical and rational.

He is the coordinating minister of the economy sir. Some countries brought in temporary subsidy to minimize the effect of the global crises on energy. They keep pumping money to the states and the governors are doing nothing. Make he go abeg.

How Indorama sustains manufacturers, boosts Nigeria’s FX earnings

Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Limited (IEPL) has emerged as a major value creator in the Nigerian economy. It is responsible for the survival, growth and sustenance of many manufacturing companies in Nigeria today. A large number of plastic and allied firms depend on the Eleme-based company for petrochemical resins (or polymer resins) which serve as their raw materials.

The petrochemical company is just one of the several subsidiaries of Indorama-Nigeria Group, which also comprises Indorama Eleme Fertilizer & Chemicals Limited (IEFCL), Indorama PET Nigeria Limited, and Indorama Port Operations.

Since Indorama Corporation of Indonesia became core investor in the old Eleme Petrochemicals Company Limited (EPCL) in 2006 through privatisation programme of the Federal Government, the group has become a game changer in the Nigerian economy.

The petrochemical company has solved the major challenge facing a number of manufacturers— poor access to raw materials. Rather than scramble for foreign exchange to import inputs, the company ensures that manufacturers have access to their critical raw materials, enabling them to save costs and improve margins.

The major resins used by plastic and allied companies are polyethylene and polypropylene. Indorama produces about 45 grades of these products for various industries. About 600 of such companies in Nigeria depend on IEPL for their survival. They are estimated to have over 90,000 workers.
