Yes, you generally have to certify your documents (academic transcripts, diplomas, certificates) before applying to international schools.

I hold a Bsc in industrial chemistry and I intend to do my masters in Germany. However I have not written any language proficiency exam like IELTS. For now I only have medium of instruction from my school registrar and hope to apply with that. My search for schools that accept MOI for a master in chemistry related course has not yeild good result just one school so far. I will appreciate anyone that knows some schools specifically that accept MOI. Nevertheless! If it’s compulsory I write any of the English language proficiency exam I shall begin my preparation

Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Floda: 10:30am On Apr 22
Hello guys.
I’m new here and have a question; some questions actually, especially regarding the visa application and documents.

I saw a video where the lady advised that one applies for an appointment date before even applying for an admission. Is this still valid now?

Also i don’t think applying to schools should be that much of a hassle but i’m a bit confused on the documents needed to apply for admission.

I saw somewhere that English proficiency test is needed; that would be getting a letter from my undergrad school to testify that i did undergrad in English, right?

Then as regards certifying your documents. Would it be all the documents I intend using that needs to be certified?

Also how can one go about the it? Where and what does it cost?

‎Hello guys
‎Please, I need your advice. I was admitted to a public university, but I have to pay school fees. The issue now is that I am to pay just the first semester fees alone, but the embassy requires that I show the full payment for a year. Should I add the remaining fees to my blocked account?

You can also check www.uni-assist.de for the requirement for Nigerians, you will definitely apply to German university through uni-assist. What i know at the top of my head is that your transcript has to be sent directly to uni-assist by your school.

I haven’t applied for visa, I’m a newbie. I am about to resume my application. I have received my transcript from my school and i intend to get my passport few days from now so I can begin application. On my research I discovered I have to authenticate my documents before applying to universities. Considering I know I will get the first hand information and guidance here on Nairaland from those who have applied already, that’s why I’m inquiring. Thanks

Yes, you have to book an appointment at the Embassy. Check online for how to book an appointment for certification of academic documents at the German consulate, the information is on the Embassy website. And the whole process is free, you just need to go with your application form for the school, original documents and Photocopies of the originals then arrange them as stated on the website. Also, FAU doesn't require uniassist, you apply online via the school's application portal.

Certification is only required depending on the school's requirements not a prerequisite for visa appointments.

No really except it is strictly requested by the school you want to apply to. You can certify your documents at the embassy or any notary office around you

I guess you are admitted to a PRIVATE not public school like you stated, if that is the case you actually need a full year payment or block the amount with your normal extra welfare money you will need to block

This was received two months after a visa interview. Has anyone encountered a similar situation?

Thank you for your prompt response.

This means i have to be there in person as opposed to someone doing it for me? Also do you have an idea on what the waiting period for the appointment for certification is so i can create a timeline for myself? i can’t seem to find information about it anywhere. Also if you do not mind i would like to connect with you privately as we are applying to the same school and you appear to have gone way ahead of me please.

Thank you so much once again.

You need to contact your school to send the transcript directly to uni-assist, the grading system is usually in the transcript. With the information, uni-assist can convert your grade to the german grading system, which is different from ours. This german grade is what uni-assist will send to the schools you have chosen in your application.
For CV, there is no basic requirements or format. you can use Europass to create one, just google europass.
