This is more than too much now. These people should just stop. Borrow and then put the burden on citizens via tax and every element of hardship. Na waohhh |

boxypane:What is the travel and transport demand between Sokoto and Badagry that justifies the need for a superhighway? Same issue with the coastal road and a lot of other government projects. Misplaced priorities. A lot of money being pushed into projects whose economic importance does not justify the amount spent. Meanwhile, existing roads are in bad condition. |

simpleseyi:What happened to building schools and hospitals? Atleast it'd have helped save me from the nonsense you typed up there that you can’t even spell correctly. Nigerian youths will be on whatever they’re on until the country and government change the state of things. The people joining boko haram, iswap, lakorawa and co you think it’s because they went to school, graduated and have good healthcare and stable jobs for themselves and their family? They have no choice, they’ve been wasting away for years…then someone came, taught them the wrong things, educated them in Sunni faith, made them feel like they belong and gave them guns telling them to “take back what they’re owed” because the society always marginalized them! I can never rationalize terrorism…but the government is the biggest motivation behind this jihadist movements. |

L0wk3y:This is why I said most of us in the opposition are illiterates or half lirerates. According to DMO as of April 2026, Nigeria’s total public debt has reached approximately $110.97 billion (₦159.28 trillion) as of December 2025 data, with further debt approved in 2026, including a fresh $6 billion loan. Tinubu's administration has accumulated over $21 billion in new foreign loan approvals for the 2025–2026 budget to tackle infrastructure and budgetary deficits. All the debts Tinubu has taken personally including the MTEF of $21.5 billion that he is collecting in piecemeal (it will end by Dec 2026 with some part of 2027) is around $32 billion dollars. We should also remember that he has paid off almost $11 billion. Nigerians joy is that the loans are being used for infrastructures that we can use,Educational subsidies and social welfare at al. |

ogaemma:He removed it so as to steal more from the money he's borrowing presently. If the fuel subsidy was still in place, he would have been paying significant portion of the borrowed monies to fuel subsidy and thereby, having little too loot! ![]() |

alanto:The druggie thief said that removing subsidy will enable him amass money for projects and not resort to borrowing. Now he has borrowed in three years more than what the master borrower Buhari borrowed in eight years and Buhari was paying subsidy but borrowed far less. Nigeria has been captured by a devilish thief and drug pusher. |

LagosOrigin:Goodluck Jonathan Administration (2010–2015): Records indicate approximately N3.9 trillion was spent on petrol subsidies. Other data suggests that annual subsidy payments during this period ranged from over N400 billion to as high as N2.1 trillion in 2011. Muhammadu Buhari Administration (2015–2023): The Buhari government spent an estimated N11.4 trillion on petrol subsidies. |

alanto:Tinubu's borrowing is bad, Nigerian Government excessive borrowing is bad and evil the money will be squandered. It was conceived that once there is removal of fuel subsidy, those money goes into infrastructure development but yet borrowing has sharply increased |

alanto:Borrowing to funds what has no economic value is what is the problem. In the next hundred years can that project give you back the money or contribute directly into Nigeria economy. The answer is now. But that money could fund so many federal road that can contribute to the economy. They are many major federal road that are terrible and we are building supper road with little values. |
