@umar456 were you asked to submit the ID of the declarant of your affidavit of spinsterhood?
Re: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by Uma456: 6:20pm On Feb 17
Yes i did. I did not go along with the affidavit when i went for my interview. I was asked to bring it along during the children's interview with my dads idcard that has his signature on it. So came with his expired drivers license as he is old. To the Glory of God my Father i received my passport today.

What if one doesn’t have an ID of the declarant that has a signature on it. Would it waived or would you be asked to send any other means of identification for the declarant?

I submitted the affidavit of spinsterhood and I didn’t submit a mean of identification for the declarant because the ones I have does not have signatures (voters card and Nin of my mum)
Would I be asked to submit it like that or how does this work?

Has anyone experienced this before. What do I do at this point?

Did the embassy collect the affidavit from you without the copy of the ID Card?
Were you asked during your interview why you did not attach a copy of the ID card?
Were you told to submit a new one with ID card attached ?
If not, in my opinion i think you are good. if they need anything from you, you will be rightly informed.

Re: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by Chisbaby: 7:34pm On Mar 02
Hi, pls how did you prove chat history, did you screenshot all messages or do whatsapp message export as document and printed to submit?
Hello everyone.

Got my visa and have since arrived in Germany🎉

Here’s my timeline

I applied for FRV on the 6th of June 2024 when the wait was “over a year” and after the intervention of a lawyer, I got a date on the 23rd of June 2025 for July 24. (For more info on this and my interview experience, see my previous posts)

I wrote the A1 exams on 20th June

July 24: Interview

August 13: Contacted by consulate for more info ie newspaper publication for change of name, more old documents + photos and chat history w my husband (I provided a name change affidavit during the interview but my maiden name was still on my passport)

August 18: Husband was contacted for financial info by the Standesamt/Auslandbehörde (can’t remember which one)

August 21: Sent documents

August 22: Contacted by consulate and asked to change my name on my passport, was given till October 15 to submit.

September 15: Sent the new passport

October 13: Contacted by consulate to send incoming insurance via email (they already had my new passport)

October 14: Sent incoming insurance + intended travel date

October 16: Contacted by DHL but I was on holiday so delivery was held till October 24

October 24: Received passport + documents

October 31: Ich hab nach Deutschland geflogen

No lawyer verification and I’m thankful that the process was mostly seamless for me, wishing you all good luck

Hi, please what type of incoming insurance did you use? My husband has received an approval email since the 17th of February, but all the incoming insurance we used has been rejected. Thanks

Why not use provist germany from Dr Walter GmbH, then use SEPA has payment method. when your husband arrives in Germany, then you cancel the contract and enroll to your own public health insurance as a family

Could someone please clarify this for me? For those who applied for a work permit visa with an employment contract, and due to the waiting period, the scheduled arrival date has passed, will the embassy request an updated work contract from your potential employer, or will they still accept the work contract used during the application process, knowing that the delay was caused by waiting for appointments, which led to the passing of the resumption date?

VISA ALERT!!! 💃💃💃💃💃💃💃

01/08/2024
I got an email for my interview date

26/08/2024
I went for my interview

19/12/2024
I was sent another email to send some documents
23/12/2024
I went to submit the documents;
* Affidavit of Spinsterhood
* Pictures of your marriage ceremony (church, court and traditional) and other pictures
* A1 certificate
* Affidavit of Change of Name
* Affidavit of Reconciliation of Names

09/01/2025
My husband sent them a mail concerning the A1 certificate I was told to bring
20/01/2025
They replied saying the A1 was waived
06/02/2025
My husband got the mail at home to submit his documents
* Arbeitgeberbescheinigung
* Three months pay slip
* Work contract
* Bestätigung from his landlord
* Erklärung from my husband himself
10/02/2025
He submitted the documents at their office
12/02/2025
I was an email to send the A1 certificate again or Appointment confirmation proof for the next A1-exam
17/02/2025
I went to the embassy to submit all the copy of the emails I was sent to show that the A1 had initially being waived for me
21/02/2025
I went to Goethe institut to register for the A1 exam which I was told to do online although the lady helped me create a profile which is required before registering online. After the profile was created, I was told to go and make payment by 9:15am. When it was time, I made a transfer from my bank app, which was reversed. I had to go to bank to do a physical transfer, while I was about filling the slip, I got an email thinking it was from the Goethe institut but to the Glory of God it was from the embassy saying;
Dear Madam,
With regard to your visa application, we kindly request that you submit the following documents to the Consulate:
* Your Nigerian passport
* Proof of incoming insurance that covers your stay in Germany for 90 days or statutory health insurance or private health insurance.
I was so so happy, I can’t even describe how I felt that day but I really thank God.

My husband immediately got incoming insurance from ‘Allianz’ for me.
24/02/2025

I submitted everything at the embassy myself
04/03/2025
I collected all my documents through the courier
10/03/2025
I japa💃💃💃

I want to first of all thank God for everything, to my amazing husband I love you so much for your efforts and patience. Finally to all my nairaland fam, God bless you all and I pray that the Good Lord will help speeding the process for others waiting. Amen 🙏
Congrats to you

Updated work contract will likely be requested, so be in touch with your prospective employer for a new one or an official letter stating that you can still resume work anytime your visa is issued.

I think it’s safer to use the one from the Federal ministry. Although mine was from a state secretariat, it was affiliated with the Catholic Church where I got married.

Oh it is so disheartening, i hope the husband or wife did not miss any email or post from either Lagos embassy or the ABH.
I suggest that, they should reachout to the embassy/ ABH via email.

Yes some are verified while some are not verified.
I think the need for verification is based on the outcome of your interview and the documents submitted.
