I disagree respectfully. There has been several truthful and clean people with Tinubu. However no matter how truthful you are you cannot give ammunition to the enemies of your boss. If he says the country has zero inflation rate , you either collaborate it or ,to maintain your integrity , refuse to go public with the truth . Let the boss correct himself . Challenging your boss in front of others is a no-no. One of the rules of power .

Now that said , i personally do not think Taiwo good for the role . That guy is quite controversial.
You mean he should have cooked the books to help his boss look good
And you'll want to be counted among good citizens of this country?
Any small thing you see some confused folks go hide under rules of power

What can be drawn from the Edu issue:
PBAT can easily take any decision against anyone no matter how close you may be to him. It's the hallmark of a tough leader.

He's good at unearthing talents. For every position he has several quality but unknown replacements. That's what is working in Lagos. Apart from some of us that know Taiwo within the professional circle that he is brilliant he was little known nationally. Tinubu has unearthed him and brought him out to national limelight. They are many on the line. There are also the well known ones like Ben Akubueze resting and ready to be deployed.
Ramblings of a sycophant
So how have the talents been doing since he has been unearthing them? Is Adelabu among the talents? Out of the 48 talents he appointed as ministers, you can barely count 5 that are having any meaningful impact.
Talent my foot.

Thank you. I think Wale Edun was doing well with his monetary policies but the Government fiscal policies was so disoriented that it nothing is done, Taiwo Oyedele introduction would amount to nothing
Kobicove:
No matter how brilian Taiwo Oyedele is he is not a magician.

If there is a funding gap in the budget there is little or nothing he can do about it...at some point he would have to prioritize payments.

Nigerian politicians should learn to focus more on efforts to improve revenue generation and stop blaming the Finance Minister for not releasing money that is not even available!

We have had one of the best talents in power ministry. A brilliant professor of electrical engineering. An igbo man. He failed in power ministry but doing well in his private business associated with electricity. This should tell you that the problem of power is deeper. Like the oil mafia and the subsidy mafia. Everyone that has been there failed.

Political appointments in Nigeria at national levels are complex. So many are not based on competence. If he goes ahead to appoint based on competence mainly from a particular section you will go about shouting marginalization.

Even if you hate PBAT he's widely credited with unearthing talents. Look at the quality of Lagos governors. Every new one appears to be better.

AMINDA:
Nigeria will barely thrive under a government that prioritises self-aggrandisement and cronyism over the well-being of the people. At the beginning, they lied that Chargoury will be financing the bulk of the projects but 3 years later and not even a dime have come from him. We have rather continued to finance the project from our revenues even though they didn't appear on the budget while MDAs continue to get starved of funds already appropriated.
This is the most reasonable and important comment here.

There's nothing deep about the problem of power
You're accusing an electrical engineer who never claimed that power is not rocket science of failing in a bid to cover up the ineptitude of those who claimed that power is not rocket science.
Nice logic
You mean Ambode was better than Fashola? So why was he denied a second term?

Maybe we will campaign that you should be made the power minister because you said that there's nothing deep about power. The position is vacant now.

I didn't accuse the brilliant professor. I simply stated that the problem is beyond technical knowledge.

Not rocket science - Fashola said so because he looked at the problem from far but it overwhelmed him. Just like you think that it's a walk in the park. Same way that Obi thinks that managing Nigeria is as simple constantly being online and doing chochocho.

There are so much to crack in the power sector. I trust PBAT. The same way he cracked fx mafia that all became billionaires for doing nothing. The same way that he cracked the oil and subsidy mafia, he will crack this. This will be the ultimate deliverance for Nigeria.

There's nothing deep about it. What you have is infrastructure deficit. Once your political favourite fail at something, you guys start accruing some mysticism to it in a bid to exonerate your gods from failure.
The problem of power is not beyond technical knowledge. It actually requires technical knowledge.

PBAT did not crack any fx mafia neither did he crack any subsidy mafia. If you're convinced that he did, mention the names of the members of the mafia and how many of them have been arrested or serving jail.

He simply passed the buck to you the ordinary citizens. That's why you've been paying through the nose and seen your quality of life plummeted since he assumed office

If there is nothing deep about power why has the problem been with us for long? Regime upon regime?

Fx mafia..... it's a sector that I know inside out. I benefited from it. Senior bankers and those with connections in CBN made fortune overnight without adding value. This doesn't exist anymore.

The problem has been with us because successive govts failed to improve and upgrade our power infrastructure. From Shagari to Abacha era spanning 20 years, not one MW was added to the grid.

The transmission grid today is basically the one we've had since the 70s with OBJ the only president to carried out an upgrade of the grid. You can't have such deficit and expect not to have power problems.

It's just like saying the reason why majority of Nigerian roads are bad is because of something deep. Na lie. It's all about poor maintenance!!

So where is the fx mafia now? Because so far as I know, banks are still declaring massive profits and huge dividends. So can you explain what loss or retribution your phantom fx mafia in the banks have suffered as a result of Tinubu's clipping of their wings?
