National News – Former Super Eagles striker Michael Eneramo has died at age 40 after collapsing during a football match in Kaduna State on April 24, 2026.

He reportedly came on as a second-half substitute at the Angwan Yelwa pitch in the Television area when he suddenly slumped without any contact with other players.

Despite immediate on-field efforts and attempts to revive him, he was rushed to hospital where he was confirmed dead.

In a nation with poor respond system (no ambulance service, no oxygen and professional doctor) why would you be risking your life playing football at that age/

As a matter of fact he died at the field I train. He is someone I know, i see everyday. Most of his other team mates are far older than him. So bro keep age aside

I remember him playing during world cup qualification and scoring against some teams,at least he left doing what he loves the most,my condolences to his family 🙏

I remember dis guy like yesterday so sad he is dead,he was a sharp shooter in his super eagle short stints as eagle striker, when u are getting old someone should be careful how he run up and down on d field, especially in a country like dis when u don't have a good medical support or emergency

I don't know why people are blaming his age for his death. In Europe we have many more than 40 year old playing in different leagues and they are doing well.
