Training for Manchester 10km race in 6 weeks with aims of completing in 55 to 60 mins which is 5.30-6.00min/km pace. My training consists of three 4.3km tempo runs per week during my work lunch-break alongside once a week sprints of 800m x 4 when I'm working from home. Trying to juggle this with weight training 4 times a week and 3 times a week football. Then every two weeks I do a long recovery run (about 10km) on a Saturday morning when I drop kids off for dancing lessons. I actually planned 14km (1/3rd marathon) on my recovery run this morning but my hip seize up at 8km. Make I just respect my age and stop it here.

She better be careful cos I don't know why you would feel comfortable constantly humiliating that man on live TV and now we have proof you have been playing away match since 2020. It's why you gotta cut a broad off over disrespect cos she's either already cheating or will cheat I don't expect him to lose his job sha cos even the owner get him own scandal. Plus he's a really good coach and ex Pat. All he need to do is lay low and hope nothing crazy come out. Denying and down playing was their first mistake. Especially when evidence yapa |

DissTroy:I do not have a weird taste in music. My taste of music is eclectic, and I have a taste for good music as defined by my ears which cuts across many genres. I like country, rock, afrobeats, gospel worship, contemporary gospel, R & B, Juju, Fuji, roots reggae, dancehall reggae, pop, soul etc. There was a time, I was stuck on Enya, Another time it was Yanni,. Later it was Kenny G. Another time Phil Collins. Another time Simon Webbe. Musiq soulchild. Indigineously, I've been through phases with Fela, King Sunny Ade, Sir Shina Peters, Chief Field Marshall Echo Toikumo, King Robert Ebizimor etc I also like many of the popular tunes from our popular artistes. I also have opinions that I'll drop, and many peeps go disagree, and be like this guy no sabi music jare. You get the point. Where we differ is your elevation of alte artistes and sounds over afrobeats and afrobeats artistes., and the fact that I understand consumer behaviour and know why the industry is skewed towards afrobeats. See, make we no dey forget say this music thing na career, a poverty escape route for many of these artistes. So to quickly blow in Nigeria in this streaming era, these artistes gats jump on the dominant, trending and danceable genre which is afrobeats. Doing alte music won't blow any artiste in Nigeria. In the current Nigerian music space, commercial success = afrobeats. I respect and rate Johnny Drille highly. Pure performer. I have seen dozen of videos of his Johnny Room live performances,,and I am always blown away by the ambience and his performances. By the way, I never said Burna and Wizkid were not talented. I was only referring to their voice quality and vocal dexterity. Remember, I said it takes talent to make a hit song, and these guys get them plenty in their repertoire, and have remained relevant for years which is a difficult thing to do. All those other guys, Praiz, Capital Femi, Bez etc wey you dey always namedrop, they should stay true to their craft, continue in their alte lane with their loyal fanbase and continue to wallow in obscurity or jump on the afrobeats bandwagon if dem want commercial success. There is no other way. |

semid4lyfe:You mean a family that has two kids at the time they chose to in ten years could be suffering from secondary infertility just because the decided against family planning? Please, educate me. The day I heard a female medical doctor saying she would never do family planning, I knew the side effects might be more than what we were told. I may be wrong though. |

Osinbanjo was who I originally supported in 2023 but when he didn't clinch the APC ticket, I pivoted to Peter Obi. And Osinbanjo would have made a damn good president, but he couldn't cross the primary hurdle. With how PBAT dey move, I have this feeling that the way people go rejoice when hin kpai go loud pass when Buhari mud. Kashimawo. |

semid4lyfe:Same here. I supported Peter Obi for President in 2018 before Obidient was a thing. But only PYO could have made me change my mind. The President Nigeria never had. Fayemi was another alternative I have explained in the past. |

semid4lyfe:I resonate with your philosophy towards music. I appreciate all types of music because art is art regardless of your disposition. I listen to a little bit of everybody and everything. I can go from listening to records from the past like Johnny Cash, Sinatra, The Motown Dynasty of Soul, Bob Marley, Don Williams, Dolly Parton, Aretha Franklin. I’ve been to concerts by Black Thought and the Roots, Omah Lay, Rema, Bnxn and even listen to what Mavo got for me (even though I agree he makes Special Ed music sometimes) Lately been vibin to Zaylevelten and some of the new young cats as a way to not become a musical dinosaur. I appreciate everything even though not everything is to my taste. Creating any music at all (even pangolo music) is hard work |

DissTroy:I also supported Peter Obi but was almost convinced Osinbajo will clinch the APC primaries being VP and feeling that most Nigerians have common sense. I even didn't plan to vote in the 2023 elections because I was like whichever of the two wins we will be fine An election where PDP had Peter Obi and APC had Yemi Osinbajo would have been glory days |

DissTroy:I was one of those who aggressively pushed the twitter trend Run Osinbajo run when he hadn't declared his intention. It pained me when he didn't clinch the APC ticket. I was deflated, felt like life was snuffed out of me. But looking back, PYO didn't really push for the ticket. BAT and Amaechi were crisscrossing the country, meeting governors and delegates. PYO didn't do that, and was bested by BAT and even Amaechi. Argh. Nigeria missed a good one in Prof Yemi Osinbajo. Painful. |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Ibime(m): 9:25am On Apr 26 |
semid4lyfe:You can make time for anything you enjoy, you just have to be efficient with it. Lunchtime run is just 21 mins, add another 19 mins for shower and change and it's the same 40 mins you use to consume lunch that Mrs SemiD packed for you. I don't eat breakfast or lunch. I pack 2 bananas in the morning that sees me through till dinner. Nigerians spend too much time on travel, food prep and religious activities. Travel you can't avoid but the other 2 can be cut down to almost zero. I have this theory that any society without fast food is unproductive. Chinese can cook you a meal from scratch in 5 to 10 mins, even Ghana will throw shitto on some carbs and food will be ready. I use Ghana method of shitto on potatoes etc during the week so once I get home, food will be ready in 5 mins then I can go play football. Most of my weight training in the week is done in 20 mins before work. If you have the education, with compound dumbbell exercises, you can do all 3 exercises for 3 sets of 10 for every major muscle group in the upper body within 15 mins (shoulders, chest, biceps, triceps, lats and back). I try to do these on weekdays in the morning before work, then do 2 major sessions on Saturday and Sunday when I have more time. The other thing Nigerians spend major time on is religious activities. At least 1/4 of the weekend spent on church etc with all the dressing and travel. I send my kids to church to learn good morals while I use the time for my Sunday session. I have been in gym since 8.30 am this morning and would be home by 11am, same time preacher is just starting his sermon in most churches.

Spy360:Two calm, intelligent men who focus on issues, instead of attacking persons. Two men who quote econometrics statistics because they understand development has to be quantified too instead of the dismissive "Na statistics we go chop?" Imagine the depth of discourse without insults, thugs, and unruly psychopaths. Imagine us debating here in the lead up to the Elections knowing that whoever wins means Nigeria wins. Imagine P.O. citing economic indices from Egypt while P.Y.O. analogizes with metrics from Thailand's growth. Funny how Ghana has that and the 'Giant of Africa' doesn't. I guess, with Nigerian politics being mafia-like, controlled by thugs and gunmen, both men who preach civility and respect for contrarian voices stand little chance. But we won't lose hope. That's why I can't settle for Tinubu and standing on his mandate because I know we can do so much better...even when I know I can line my pockets standing on the mandate. |

Ibime:So I go dress formally go work, park running gear put for bag and breaktime wey I suppose take loosen my belt, relax, chop and decompress after a hectic schedule, I go change cloth and begin dey run under this hot naija sun? Explain properly, e no clear ![]() Nigerians spend too much time on travel, food prep and religious activities. Travel you can't avoid but the other 2 can be cut down to almost zero. I have this theory that any society without fast food is unproductive. Chinese can cook you a meal from scratch in 5 to 10 mins, even Ghana will throw shitto on some carbs and food will be ready. I use Ghana method of shitto on potatoes etc during the week so once I get home, food will be ready in 5 mins then I can go play football.Lol.. Most average and well-to-do families in Nigeria cook in bulk, and store in freezers. Stews, soups, beans, cooked proteins etc are all stored in the freezer. These foods stretch across days and save families from the stress of daily cooking. This is actually good planning and efficient time management. Moreover, it seems you've forgotten that noodles, sardines, geisha, corned beef and other easily prepared food assortments dey for Naija? In all, home-made meals are healthier and keep family running costs down in this hard economy. On travel, which Nigerians dey travel? You think all those, "come with me as I take a road trip to Ghana" , tourist destinations in Nigeria and abroad that you see on SM is the reality of the average Nigerian? Lol. Bro, most Nigerian work their asses off on their jobs, and are always at their shops, business spaces or office desks. The only time they get off are the Muslim and Christian Holidays so your travel point is over the bar ❌ Most of my weight training in the week is done in 20 mins before work. If you have the education, with compound dumbbell exercises, you can do all 3 exercises for 3 sets of 10 for every major muscle group in the upper body within 15 mins (shoulders, chest, biceps, triceps, lats and back). I try to do these on weekdays in the morning before work, then do 2 major sessions on Saturday and Sunday when I have more time.Good for you. Again, na because you get time and live in a sane clime that things are predictable and you don't have to worry about extraneous circumstances. On a personal level, I've fallen off and the last time I entered Church was 2024. Wifey and the kids go every Sunday, and I assist her in prepping the kids. Still, I don't think Nigerians spend too much time in religious places of worship. I mean, it's not too much for an adherent of a religion to devote 3/4 hours on a particular day every week in in a "religious house" to worship the God they serve. In all, you speak from a place of privilege and have lost touch with the Nigerian reality. Continue to dey enjoy, sir. Nothing do you. ![]() |

semid4lyfe:Like I say, anything you want make time for, you go work out your schedule to fit in. As you get fitter, you need less rest time, infact your body no go allow you sit-down one place to decompress. The same way Adenuga say he is too busy for workout is the same condition Elumelu is doing workouts in. Na same environment Livelongnprospa turn to Hercules while still working and hustling Canada visa. Once you have small education on physical fitness you will see that just 30 mins Calisthenics every other day will set you off to the point you become so energetic after a few months, you start finding time you never knew you had. Some ninjas like Emaprince na just pressups, dips, pull-ups, burpees they need to cover everything. Even 10 mins skipping rope per day can give you so much energy that you won't need to decompress and find another hour in the day for other things. As you get older nobody go tell you to take care of your health. Many ninjas our age are somehow suddenly dropping with HBP and stroke from nowhere including old classmates. |
