Osun holds Governorship elections in August 2026.

Adeleke paid my dad's gratuities and salary arrears, he also paid my mum's salary arrears both owed by APC. I will travel home to Iwo just to cast that my one vote for him. I will go home and vote for him.

ADELEKE REPLIES
Dear @BOBBYFERAN,

Paying your Dad’s gratuities, your Mum’s salary arrears, and settling obligations of every civil servant at the state and local government level in Osun is not a favour, it is a duty we will uphold regardless of the continuous hijacking of Osun Local Government funds.

Osun must never return to the dark days of unpaid salaries under APC. That you are travelling home to Iwo just to vote speaks volumes. It matters greatly.

Spread the word. The continuity message of IMOLE, under ACCORD must reach every corner of Osun State.

I can honestly say Osun is better now under Adeleke than it was under APC.. because where was the money in Osun going when baba Hafusa was paying half salary...
The same aregbe that joined ADC because they did not give him the Minister he was looking for.....

Nigerians should use their heads d not allow any politician use them ...

Everybody are talking about Aregbe paid half salary, but forget Jonathan refused to release full allocation to the states, which hit low IGR state like Osun state. Thank God for Buhari ball out fund for the states

Don't be surprised if Tinubu loses osun again next year. Osun people dey vex for APC badly. Adeleke will win osun election with a landslide. That Ambo guy is a puppet of Oyetola who messed up the state in his tenure.

Osun people are one of the most politically conscious in the country. If Osun had been in Lagos ni, they would have uprooted APC in Lagos since 2007. APC making Lagos look like Tema in Ghana despite the huge resources.

You lied. Jonathan never paid half allocation to any state govt during his tenure. Bring ur facts. Aregbe was using osun money for capital projects and abandoned the civil servants

Since you understand everything, why not just share evidence of Jonathan being sued by governors for failing to pay the 27% federation account that they own jointly huh

Pastor and law professor Osinbajo tried that in 2018 when Osun people had not experienced the good works of Adeleke and failed to win the election.

Based on Gej paying half allocation she/ he is kind of right that Gej didn't deliberately pay half allocation and to support her stand, this what I found out.

Alright, let’s break it down clearly comparing the three presidents so you see the real difference 👇
🇳🇬 Under Goodluck Jonathan (2010–2015)
Allocations to states were normal FAAC sharing based on available revenue.
Nigeria depended heavily on oil money then.
When oil prices crashed around 2014–2015, total money dropped.
So states received less money, but:
❌ It was not a deliberate “half payment policy”
✅ It was simply low revenue coming in
👉 Reality:
States felt like they were getting “half,” but it was because the national income reduced—not because Jonathan cut it.
🇳🇬 Under Muhammadu Buhari (2015–2023)
Oil prices were still unstable early on.
Many states couldn’t pay salaries.
Federal government introduced:
Bailout funds
Paris Club refunds
Allocations were still not huge, but support increased through loans and interventions.
👉 Reality:
Not high revenue, but federal support kept states afloat.
🇳🇬 Under Bola Ahmed Tinubu (2023–present)
This is where things changed significantly:
Removal of fuel subsidy + FX reforms increased revenue.
FAAC allocations rose sharply.
📊 For example:
Total FAAC sharing:
₦9.18 trillion (2022)
₦10.9 trillion (2023)
₦15.26 trillion (2024)
The Nigerian Inquirer
States’ share alone jumped massively (over 60% increase)
The Nigerian Inquirer
👉 Reality:
States are now receiving more money than ever before, even though citizens feel more hardship due to inflation.
🔑 Simple Comparison
President
What Happened to Allocations
Jonathan
Fell due to low oil revenue
Buhari
Moderate + bailouts/loans
Tinubu
Highest allocations ever
🧠 Final Truth (Very Important)
No president (including Jonathan) officially said:
👉 “Pay governors half allocation”
What people remember as “half allocation” is actually:
Economic downturn (low oil price)
Not government policy

Technically the he/ she was right Gej didn't deliberately pay half allocation.

I like and appreciate your analysis.

I think Buhari approach was better, even if there is drop in oil revenue, it shouldn't impact the country sharply as GEJ did it. Because GEJ did not meet the price as high as that and many people like Okonjo Iweale, Sanusi, were warning him on the way they spend the oil revenue in peak period (which is abnormal high due to sanctions on some oil producing country) without saving for lean period. That was supposed prosperous season for the country but it was squandered.
