uzomanny:Are you sure there are no leaks, cause the k24a engine in that car as a couple of weak spot that tend to leak overtime, some don’t just drop on the ground Another reason could be the vehicle burning oil internally |

Good day guys. I have a Honda Accord 07 with stubborn code P2185. I noticed the previous owner changed the radiator to a type that doesn't have coolant sensor. I opened one of the lock nuts at the bottom and installed a sensor. But if I erase the code, it comes back immediately. I checked the voltage coming to the sensor, the positive is 5v but the negative doesn't read in continuity with the cars negative. Note: The sensor I bought I think belongs to a Honda Odyssey, must it be Accord sensor b4 it will work? Any ideas?

uzomanny:I use the normal 5w30 mobil 2000 (black cover) sold in our local Mobil petrol stations ⛽ It's the right weight and its semi synthetic so while changing at 3000 kilometres or topping up any leaks your engine will be good to keep going at a very minimal cost without trying to troubleshoot your leaks if they aren't related to gaskets or loosend bolts/screws around the sump or timing chain covers of your engine. If your leakage is too much (over litre after every 500 kilometres) without any leaks then troubleshoot your other areas of leaks on a K24 |

freeman500:Let me say you are work in the area that affect the car, but your approach affect you. Concerning the Odyssey sensor used, find out if the odyssey use K24 engine or J35 engine. If it K24, am expecting it to work. The sensor is two wire as follows: 1) Yellow/ Red wire-- sensor input ie 5V 2) Green/Black wire---sensor ground ie return voltage to ECU Now measure resistance of sensor with multimeter at various temperatures to determine if sensor state is good. See expected reading of that type of sensor as follows Approximate Resistance Values: Honda ECT thermistor resistance range; 20kΩ @ -20°C (-4°F) 0.1kΩ @ 120°C (248°F) Now to check your voltage measurement when sensor is install and connection is correct, it will varies between 0.5v to 4.5v based on temperature of sensor. Measurement is between chasis ground and green / black wire. The ECM expects a voltage that corresponds to these resistance values; an open circuit or high voltage (e.g., 5V) indicates a faulty sensor or wiring. |

calculation:Thanks for your response. I think I will look for the exact 07 Accord sensor. I'll test with hot and cold water. I'll give you feedback. Just curious..... Without the coolant temperature sensor 2, is the car supposed to be in constant open loop? Mind you when I scan (engine off) I get only one code p2185. But once I start the car I get additional p0141 P1157 |

But once I start the car I get additional p0141 P1157 Both are related to Oxygen sensor. Which will also affect vehicle operations |

calculation:I traced the negative wire of the sensor and discovered a cut along the line, fixed it connected the sensor and the code p2185 went away. Now I'm stuck with P0141 P1157 And it's still on open loop What's the way forward? Thanks

Good day everyone, I’m having a serious overheating issue with my 2009 Honda Civic and I need advice. This is what happened: I went on a long drive one day and noticed the car overheated. When I checked, the reservoir was boiling and all the coolant had poured out. I later discovered the radiator fan had stopped working at that time. I’ve since fixed the fan and it’s now working fine. After that, I topped it up with water (not coolant), and the car seemed okay for a while. But the overheating happened again. Now this is the confusing part: Even when I don’t drive the car, the water level keeps dropping. For example, this morning I didn’t even drive. I just opened the bonnet, topped up the water, closed it, and came back a few hours later — the water level had gone down again. What I’ve checked so far: • No visible leak under the car • Engine oil is normal (not milky) • No white smoke from exhaust • Fan is now working My questions: • What could cause water to reduce even when the car is not running? • Could it be a bad radiator cap or pressure issue? • Is it still possible to be a gasket or internal problem even without white smoke? • What exactly should I check next? I’ve been using just water for now, not coolant. Abeg, I really need guidance before I cause more damage. Thanks 🙏 |

Aspireahead:Their is a reason why we use coolant. Coolant is a colored liquid, if their is external leak, it will make it very feasible to see. Using water will make it hard to see external leakage. Water reducing while vehicle is driven\cranked at all points at external leakage. Normally your engine oil dip stick should have been milky but if the seepage is small sometimes, the oil may not be milky yet but you will notice fast droplets of very light oil when you remove the oil gauge to check |

calculation:Please I need to change the shift solenoid B on Honda Accord 2009. I have been to oyingbo, tried a couple of replacement but after a test drive, code returns. Please help. |
| Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by calculation(m): 8:20pm On Apr 30*. Modified: 6:12am On May 01 |
flootintin:For you to conclude to change solenoid, it means you have conclude that is the faulty part that need to change. Let me tell you that you need to be sure that the problem is mechanical ( hydraulic ) or electrical in nature. In your case, check that solenoid is working okay ( both removed and new install solenoid ). Also ensure no problem along the wire. Try to check the hydraulic path the solenoid is working with in the transmission. Am now asking you, where is the problem reside? Note, if you replace any part with good part and it is not what is causing the problem, then the code or problem will remain. |
| Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by flootintin: 12:21am On May 01 |
calculation:Based on assessment with technician at oyingbo, the issues is mechanical. The wiring were properly terminated and every solenoid installed works initially but after a test drive, I noticed the downshift when braking or stopping is erratic with a jerk occasionally. Another solenoid flare when upshift from 2 to 3. Another jerks in reserve hence the code returns. The solenoid that came with the car also exhibits these behavior too and is currently in use. |

| Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by luvinhubby(op): 10:07am On May 03 |
nurey:Nigeria drivers don't know the importance of using coolants, many use water in the place of coolant and that is the reason for frequent overheating & damaged engines. A good coolant serves as coolant, antifreeze and antirust |
