It's his right.

It's his lifelong ambition just like Tinubu's own

He cannot be forced or coerced to step down if he doesn't wish to.

Step down for who?
For what?

Obi and his apprentices in failure should better stop this bambiala politics and prepare to contest the ADC primaries.
Re: Will Atiku Agree To Step Down For Anyone? by Wizardslayer: 8:55pm On Apr 26
Peter obi supported atiku to become president by running as his deputy though it didn't work.

Atiku should in turn support Peter obi to become president as well, because Peter obi has better chances of winning.

I don't get these idea of forcing someone to step down for anyone. Despite all the forces against tinubu he never asked anyone to step down for him.Ariku has the right to contest and no intimidation will stop him. If obi is looking for no contest nomination he shouldn't have left Lp or he should seek another party where he will be the sole candidate.
Re: Will Atiku Agree To Step Down For Anyone? by AMINDA: 9:00pm On Apr 26
No, he won't and rightly so. Next question.

With the electoral act amendment, all talks about dollarisation of primaries are dead. Whoever thinks they are more popular than Atiku should join the race and defeat him in the direct primaries.

Will Atiku Abubakar agree to step down for anyone?
He may not.
Because since 2015, he has been one leg in APC with another leg in the opposition.
He lives in Dubai and comes to Nigeria every presidential election to contest

You think so? Mathematically, Obi doesn’t stand the chance of securing more than 5million voters. That’s the fact. The north would rather vote for Tinubu instead of Obi. But Atiku still has the higher chances of getting more than 8million votes from the north.

nobody go step down for anybody let the primaries decide.

Why should he step down for anyone ??
Would OBI or TINUBU agreed to have stepped down for anyone? All this stepping down is the idea of obi supporters, that obi would never step down for anyone ever..... So he shouldn't look for an easy way to the presidency, cause first first he won't spell aso Rock.
Lol.
Obi on the ADC presidential ticket is your nightmare.
With Atiku, it's a walkover for your PBAT.

Why should Atiku step down? Did Tinubu step down for Osinbajo?
Make he no step down, he will receive the most disgraceful situation of his life. He has lost many of his chances of winning the presidential election

North alone cant make Atiku president, anyways, fingers crossed.

Atiku is not an option, the North should be projecting their own for 2031

Please don't be comparing President Tinubu with Atiku, it is like comparing heaven and earth. Atiku is not a smart politician, he just has plenty of money to throw around, but no political tactics.

I personally will not subscribe to PO bribing any delegate with money to get a Presidential Primary Ticket.

Let Atiku continue with his ambition.

Keep deceiving yourself Atku.

That’s why he needs a good candidate from the south. Atiku/Obi can pull over 12million to 15million votes. But there is no way Obi can pull that number regardless of whoever is the running mate
Re: Will Atiku Agree To Step Down For Anyone? by waice6571: 9:11pm On Apr 26
Why should anyone be advised or coerced to step down for another? Let the primary decide and the popular candidate emerge as the flag bearer..... Simple!
Re: Will Atiku Agree To Step Down For Anyone? by Antox(m): 9:12pm On Apr 26
All this idea of stepping down shouldn't be coming up from any camp of the aspirants.

The main purpose of the coalition is to unseat PBAT and APC.

Zoning the ticket ❌
Any aspirant stepping down for another ❌

All aspirants should sit on a round table till they reach a consensus and everybody agree and sign to it ✅
Re: Will Atiku Agree To Step Down For Anyone? by Pinicop(m): 9:13pm On Apr 26
APC: Tinubu/Shettima
ADC Atiku/Makinde
NDC: Obi/Kwankwaso

That one concern una.

Anything PO ask us to do we will do.
The best solution for PO is to join APC and work for PBAT on the agreement that he will be the presidential candidate of APC in 2031 else PO will never be a president in Nigeria

If obidiotts like they can cry till year 3000

Is called Desperado. He will never agree for consensus and is good at buying up delegate before primary. Is possible he uses Makinde as VP if paraventure he wins the primary.

There is no good reason for him to step down for anyone. He's the strongest candidate to defeat Tinubu. Let Obi step down for him and be his running mate. Simple!
Let’s be honest, many of those loudly pushing for Obi right now aren’t even genuine supporters. A good number are aligned with APC interests, strategically promoting a weaker opposition to give their candidate an easier path to victory.

There are even claims that Tinubu/APC are indirectly backing Obi’s candidacy, allegedly funding certain “Obidient” influencers to amplify calls for him to run. Meanwhile, some well-meaning supporters believe they’re fighting for a logical cause, not realizing they may just be playing into a larger political script.

Ask these people to explain how they think Obi will win, they would start saying he won 2023 elections, as how now?

That Obi is popular in the southern states does not mean his popularity can defeat Tinubu in the south.

What is the meaning of stepping down, let them slug it out in primary election. Tinubu faced the same ordeal from his party, honestly the way people rate Obi always make me laugh.

Listen to yourself.
ibabz:
On the contrary, the Obidients will allow Tinubu to win. I still don’t understand the logic, why should someone who secured over 7 million votes step down for a candidate whose chances have significantly declined? It’s also unclear how Obi is expected to pull more than 5 million votes from the South, especially when many governors have either defected or aligned with Tinubu. Elections aren’t won on emotion; they’re won through strategy.

Will Atiku Abubakar agree to step down for anyone?
The question should be:

Would Obi agree to step down for anyone?

It's Atiku that bought the party from Nwosu and he later invited Obi, Ameachi, and kwakwaso to join him. Why would anyone want Atiku to give them his right? It's not fair. Nobody should pressurize him. Obidients Movement should stop the rubbish. Couldn't Obi have founded his own political party? If Atiku wants to step down, it's left for him but not the way obidients are bullying him on top of his Party.
