I have no idea. What I have is the almost dumb X25, the base model with no root menu.

I have someone willing to sell black X25pro at 40k. Perhaps I should give it a try, for science.

So I bought the much talked about ZLT X25pro. Inserted the ODU sim in it and it works. Nothing spectacular. It just works like other routers do currently in my location because Airtel has been relatively OK. Maybe I can test it again when things start going sideways. I'm not sure if it will make a difference but we'd see.

In terms of signal, it still doesn't match ZTE G5F, that first ZTE branded ODU Airtel sold.

I can't find anything that suggests it can work as a wifi repeater on either the normal UI or the root UI. I will test using it as IDU for my almighty G5F and see what happens. When I tried with the base X25, it worked but connects only one device in total. The rest won't connect.

I don't have MTN Hynetflex sub to test it with, so tweaking it now might be a waste of money but I will try contacting paragon for it.

I actually spent a total of 49k to get this device in the used market. Waybill made it reach that price, if not, it would have been less.

forget it, it won’t work. Same thing happened to me, I just had to hold on to an android and iPhone device.

iPhone saves WhatsApp backup on iCloud while Android saves WhatsApp backup on google drive.

There's Mobile, Wired and several other modes. This is after the unlocking.

I see. You may try using it as repeater oh. The thing fit work.
I see yours has up to 3 LAN ports, mine has only 2.

I discovered that the previous owner of the router unlocked it because MTN works in it. Apparently the software used to unlock it restricted some of its features.

My next move na to contact Paragon make he unlock am with his software.

Meanwhile, are you seeing this in the normal UI or the root UI?

Try removing the sime from the X25pro, then connect via cable to the first lan port, it should work automatically without changing anything on the interface.

A friend told me it works as you described. But the router seems to have been tweaked before coming to me, with software that restricted some of its features.

Oh okay, sorry to hear that, hopefully the new umlock should work just fine. For those who have used paragon to unlock the x25pro, what's his price range? Seems his software has a lot more features.

10k, it has more features. Or should I say it unlocks the features which were hitherto hidden.

The router now has three more auxiliary wifi. That is guest wifi. The ability to change IMEI. Then opens the network mode.

Finally, although there are modes to use the X25pro as 2.4GHz or 5Ghz Wifi (repeater?!) in the paragon unlock software, that feature refused to work. I have tried it many times but it keeps showing 'Disconnect'.

It now works well as IDU though, but I am still sticking with MC801A.

If you haven't tweaked yours, it will work automatically. If it is tweaked, however, you will activate the LAN port you want to use as WAN and then select either wired broadband or mobile/wired broadband from the network mode.

Bear in mind that it is not PoE capable, so it has to be used with ODU that comes with a separate PoE like the G5F. Otherwise you'd have to buy a PoE adapter.

The first process you described in your penultimate message is the correct one. The router cannot power the ODU. The problem you have is the software and it will cost you 10k to fix, by paragon.

I got paragon to tweak the router during the night. I was determined to finish the testing, which I did and then replied your old message with my finding.

Yea. But I think you should just do it. It looks like the tweaking kind of gives the router some super powers.

The option to use it as Wi-Fi extender is there. Maybe I'm the one not getting it right. You might get it right if you're determined. I mean, even if it eventually doesn't work, you have virtually nothing to lose, _{apart from the 10k}.

Also, using it as IDU is an upgrade because the follow come IDU for the ZTE ODU is Wifi 5.

it won't work. Just Link your Whatsapp to the iPhone from your android and hold on to the two phones
