Your car is fuel hungry. It consumes fuel a lot. The normal range should be 25MPG
25MPG on normal driving conditions which are lacking in this country

While fuel efficient they're not good for short trips like city driving. If you're not consistently driving highway forget diesel engines
You are quite right, too much short, city drives on diesel cars have severe negative impact the EGR valve (exhaust gas recirculation valve) and the DPF (diesel particulate filter). A clogged EGR valve or DPF will Set your vehicle into a limp mode.

I will never buy fuel from any other station than, MRS or maybe Heyden again.
I bought fuel from total & Mobil on 2occasions and I regretted it. It's either the attendants are playing "hanky-panky" when selling trying or the fuel never amounts to much.
Eventually I found out the fuel from these other stations burns faster!!!
Alot of stations are scamming Nigerians

My 2gr fe v6 , gives me 32-33mpg/ highway and 20-22mpg/ city driving.

Tips: -Ensure your engine is well turned, no check engine lights.

-Be steady on the gas pedal , if you are driving fast, don’t accelerate heavily ,
-Use engine braking, avoid stepping on the brakes suddenly.

-Ensure you do wheel balancing and alignment. You can get about 5-6mpg with proper wheel balance

My KIA Rio 2014 1.6l engine manual transmission uses 1L of petrol per 15-19km (depending on the traffic).
So that's roughly 6.5-7L/100km.
20% higher with AC in Kano heat.
The best I've seen.
Same with my KIA cerato 2011 auto.

My Mercedes was doing 11liters per 100 km in optimal condition. C280, 2006 model.

But I have experience 16l/100km driving in town.

If engine condition is bad small I will see 18liters.

I am considering going for a Toyota camry 2010

Honda accord 2013

C300 2010 very soon

Many Nigerians don’t know how to drive a car efficiently. Every small gap in the road they accelerate hard only to brake ( rinse repeat) and as such burn more petrol than they need to.

I can drive that car on the same route and get at least 25mpg and arrive at the destination no more than 1 minute later.

Nigerians only complain but don't take any actions to challenge the government and that's why the government never takes seriously...

It will shock you some cars consumption are less than public transport cost in terms of convenience and daily running. Especially outside Lagos oooo. And If you have mind to add bolt driver app to it, you won't mind even fuel fuel gets to 2k per litter. No be everything dey public knowledge grin

12.7 MPG for over 2.5 ton 2011 Acura MDX
We use the same J37 engine with the Acura TL. Do you drive aggressively or in heavy traffic?

I don't see how you'll drive a 3.7L V6 and get 25mpg with the AC on in Lagos. Maybe in interstate travelling, that can work
