President Tinubu Sacks NMDPRA Chief Executive Saidu Mohammed, Nominates Rabiu Abdullahi Umar as Replacement Subject to Senate Confirmation

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate removal of Mr. Saidu Mohammed as Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).

He has nominated Mr. Rabiu Abdullahi Umar to take over as the new Chief Executive. The appointment is pending confirmation by the Senate.

If this is true. Nigerias have entered one chance for Dangote hands. The new head will either follow his bidding or he will work assiduously for his removal like he did for the other man he fought dirtily.

So Mancity is now lobbying for certain referees to be appointed. How will the 115 charges stick. No wonder Dangote was called an institution by the Vice President. Why not just appoint him Minister of Petroleum since he is now bigger than the regulator.

Nigerians should be up in arms at this news if true. Everyday their civil liberties and their control over their lives through government continues to be whittled down through this feudal system.

First we sat by while the Legislature was made an annex of the Presidency and the result is all manner of anti-people policies going through at the speed of light with absolutely no resistance or scrutiny, but now our economy is about to be hit by the interests of a single individual industrialist and his capitalist interests.

Anyway we caused it. We the citizens fought the unions to hands off Dangote then joined hands with Dangote as he fought dirty to cower and eventually eject the former head of the regulatory body. Now that we have de-activated the airbags and slashed our seat belts let us see where this journey will end.
