NNPC Complete OB3 Gas Pipeline River Niger Crossing, Boost Energy Supply

I am pleased to announce that NNPC Limited has successfully completed the River Niger crossing of the OB3 Gas Pipeline.

Executed 2km beneath the riverbed using advanced HDD technology, this milestone unlocks a transport capacity of 2 billion scf/day—strengthening Nigeria’s energy security, power generation, and industrial growth. It also builds on our AKK crossing success and reflects disciplined execution, innovative engineering, and the unwavering commitment of our team and partner, PCE Nig. Limited.

I thank Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his Gas-to-Prosperity agenda, our Board under Chairman Ahmadu Musa Kida, the host communities, and the resilient team at NGIC for their steadfast support and commitment.

The OB3 Pipeline links East to West and connects to the Northern corridor via the AKK Pipeline, unlocking over 500 million scf/day of domestic gas. The AKK will supply power plants, fertiliser, manufacturing, and new industries across Kaduna, Kano, and beyond, driving job creation, economic diversification, energy access, and West African exports.

Another promise made, promise kept. Next is the completion of the AKK gas line.

A lot of moribund powerplant in the north will spring up once this pipeline gets to the north.

So Nigeria is still paying for ineffective and inefficient agency, the refinery staff should be downsized since it's no longer operational

Wait for obidients to cone and call this white elephant project and the north doesn't need gas insfrastructure yet,tinubu should concentrate on bringing down price of rice and return subsidy like Nigeria is all about rice......he should create jobs as if its ghosts that are being employed in projects like this and many others.

The project was funded by NNPC under the decade of gas initiative during the Buhari administration and so cannot be abandoned by tinubu.

tinubu administration did not push anything, it was started in 2016 and will be finished in august of this year.

All the work was done by NNPC and much of it during the buhari administration.

same thing with the AKK gas pipline which is almost done, they all were planned in Jonathan administration and started in Buhari administration

Lolz, confident ignorance in display. You don't know how government works. If a government stops a project or withdraws funding, it can't be completed automatically. You probably don't know why 3 to 5 year project becomes incomplete or abandoned even after 20years. Don't be blind.

I am slowly beginning to understand why Nigeria cannot make progress. Everyone is busy scavenging things that don't belong to them. That's what this is. SE and SS oil and gas is being stolen and piped hundreds and eventually thousands of miles away, and what do they get in return?.

Railways and new bridges in the north-west and south-west: what exactly are the regions that produce the national wealth getting in return?, Nothing. A few days ago, the Enugu-Onitsha road was all the talk. The usual Igbo gaslight, yet this government is not even responsible for its financing. That project is financed under an MTN tax concession arrangement brokered by the Buhari administration. The construction, or rather repair, of the 70-kilometre road has been ongoing for more than six years.

When it comes to SE projects, it has to be a some shady arrangement, like with Akanu Ibiam Airport. But there's always money to be spent in Lagos and the north-west in search of votes. While we're at it, what is the status of the clean-up of Ogoni land?.

So buhari is no longer Apc ? This project was started by apc and will be completed by apc .

Imagine saying they awarded contract in 2012 and yet gej and pdp did not mobilise contractor for good 3 years before he left office , you guys assume everyone is dull like you on this forum.

Pensioners, university students and people using roads are common people too. There's no loan spent for consumption, payment of debt or living large. All the loans have been to improve infrastructure that we refused to build since the 60s.

Gas from Imo and Rivers crossing Delta State to Edo, to supply Lagos, Kaduna and Kano. One region producing, yet it's people are marginalized. Fiscal federalism now, Tinubu you won on the federalism/regionalism mantra.

So how much are you buying gas? Who did this to Nigerians? How do you interpret these corrupt acts of stealing?
