Most Edo people no sabi edit their words, vulgar nor dey their dictionary. For example, Edo person nor mind to call toto or prick no matter who de listen. They no send your papa. My Edo friend swear say if him pronounce letter 'N' make Ogun kill am. You go hear ... Moday, Eglish, (Monday, English). Most of them get lyrics and jokes, mostly jolly good fellows. But their women? Nor put body o! |

Osanoghodua1:Aiyenoria. This is the closest I can remember us spelling it. It was just I and my younger brother who was 7 at the time. For mother's siblings, they all claim to not know anything about my dad. And I can't keep pestering them. |

Juliette5803:I assume you're learned. Unless you've surveyed women in Edo, don't make fake claims. Imagine assuming that most people called Juliette generally have an IQ that has sunk deeper than the Mariana Trench. |

Nteogwuija:"We don't remember that which is bitter" - Aiyenoria. Could actually mean something else if the spelling is different. |

Aiyenoria. This is the closest I can remember us spelling it. It was just I and my younger brother who was 7 at the time. For mother's siblings, they all claim to not know anything about my dad. And I can't keep pestering them. This sounds like an Esan name. It will be very difficult to locate, if one has to go to one if the Esan villages. |

Nteogwuija:Difficult experience. I sincerely hope you get answers soon. If they he was Benin, try some Benin online platforms. But they will need you to answer questions which seems like you don't have the answers. Example is in Benin the family name can be used to trace a person |

CharlotteFlair:I’m not entirely serious about it, and she knows that. That’s why she always laughs whenever I look at her. Sometimes I let her speak English with a Benin accent, but my concern is that our daughter might start copying it later ----especially now that she’s just learning to talk. I don’t really have a problem with accents because every tribe has its own. What I'm not comfortable with is the way some words are pronounced in the Benin accent --- it doesn’t quite align with standard English. |

Goo0dHardDick:The difference is not that much but their accent plus the pidgin makes it special and rugged. Though one Benin guy told me that for Nigeria warri no dey carry last for pidgin no state or tribe see their back, then followed by Benin own. |

Osariemen12:An ignorant and uneducated Yoruba person is more likely to regard you as Omo Ibo than see you as a Yoruba. Those of them who argue that Edo people are Yorubas do so not out of genuine ignorance of the uniqueness of Edo but due to political expansionism quest. And such are very few. The average uneducated Yoruba person believes that if you are not Yoruba or Hausa, then you are automatically an Igbo person. |
