May young people in Nigeria today don't have savings, most times is not how much you earn but how much did you save. Savings for me is part of survival just imagine a man without savings you are like WhatsApp without back up .... 100k is not enough simple |

I earn less than that amount in Port Harcourt as a single guy who still helps his brother. It all depends on how you manage your finance in this present economy. I've seen a single guy earning more than 600k a month(excluding other benefits) and still goes broke less than two weeks after collecting his salary. Reasons- he clubs, parties, carries random girls, doesn't buy foodstuffs in bulk and spends on unwanted things. Even a married man with a family of children earns this same 100k and has never owed his landlord house rent for once.... Finance boils down to management, not most times, by the amount you earn... |

i earn around 250k per month, i am single but it seems like i am suffering seriously i cant even take my self out more than once a month and even trek back from work sometimes. 100k is definitely below poverty line. |

Data alone is 14k monthly, light bill like 6k at least so what will d remaining 80k do. What about tp, average tp daily in lagos is 2k but lets say 1.5 so that multiply by 30 thats 45k. Abeg lets forget this issue |

OredoPikin:we are all saying the same thing here, wether U like it or not there are people that are still earning less than 50k .. It's all about cutting costs to the minimum, I only buy what I need and not what I want, I can't even remember the last time I ate what I want, so I just eat to survive... It's better to earn less than 50k without transportation fare, than earning around 100k with transportation fare.... Let me use myself for example, where I'm working currently, my Salary is 80k, there's accommodation but no feeding... I've seen work of around 150k, but I turned them down because I'll be spending around 75k monthly on transportation since those ones didn't come with accommodation... So once I receive the 80k, I go to the market and buy food work around 30k, save around 40k, then the remaining 10k for airtime and data.. |

| Re: Is ₦100k Salary Still Enough To Survive In Nigeria? by lawani(m): 3:01pm On May 01 |
It depends on cost of transportation If cost of transportation were removed, then it will be more than enough for a single person because you can save a large part of it and it is not how much you are paid that matters but how much of it you can save |
