Does the US borrow money? ....name one country US borrowed money from. When in need of cash ...US simply prints money ...and prints more if more is needed. Have you ever heard them shirt of cash? Can Nigeria do same? Google is your friend

Why is it that we have so many politicians pastor in Nigeria this days.

Why would Nigeria sink if America that is one of the richest countries in the world is also the highest borrower in the world not sink.

People borrow money for business not to build roads.

Nigeria banks can fund road projects with long term tows like in other west Africa countries, Fund housing and some industries.

I don't see why government should be borrowing to build roads.

The economy and inflation rate should be the focal point. But they want to steal that’s the main issue.

The US is borrowing its own currency used worldwide. It can control domestic inflation,and does not have to pay back in FX.

Firstly, running a country without borrowing is very difficult. Powerful countries in the world borrows money to cater for their deficit, support economy, pays health and controls recession. I think Only few countries have managed to avoid borrowing or borrows little. I think Singapore is one of the favoured countries with a reach revenue.

However, there is nothing wrong if a country borrows, but Nigeria problem with borrowing is peculiar, citizens have lost interest and confidence in govt to put money borrowed into a good use. This is why people see it as a disaster for Nigeria govt to keep borrowing. This is why we need to read more and listen to what experts says on borrowing concept.


NB: Until we restructure this country, many states in Nigeria will largely benefits from FAAC they do not work for. Let's make restructuring a slogan and our only advocacy point, otherwise, the political group with few rich elites in the country gets the direct dividends of democracy while the large chunk of the masses continues to lament.

Moreover, When politician have a public spat, do not come in n between them so that "YO DO NOT DIE IN THEIR WAR" situate your interest and fight for it.

Despite high nominal debt, Nigeria's debt-to-GDP ratio is projected by the IMF to be around 32.3% , which is lower than that of Ghana and South Africa.
The Federal Government just recently inaugurated a high-powered technical committee to review and fast-track a $200 billion integrated gas, power, and high-speed rail project, which aims to improve electricity and connect major economic hubs (Lagos,Abuja, Kano, Port Harcourt).
The senate even commended President Tinubu for dedicating $3 billion to the reconstruction of the Eastern Rail Line, connecting Port Harcourt to Maiduguri.

He also knows how to pay debts too because he has paid off almost $11 billion dollars of Nigeria's debts.
In fact,he paid off all the money Nigeria was owing IMF.

This is the kind of comment or advice I'm expecting from the prophet if at all he should make comment on national issues but not predicting on who wins this or that or dabbling into party politics issues.

On the issue of taking loans by the government, taking loans on its own is not the issue,it is what you use the money for and how you plan to pay it back are the most important things. With aggressive infrastructures constructions and grants like NELFUND this government has embarked upon, I believe it worth it. Unlike some governments in the past borrowing money to pay salaries or spent it on corrupt and fraudulent ridden fuel and foreign exchange subsidies.

Your borrowing and generated income or revenues should match somehow. Nigerian borrowing is way more than the way we generate wealth in this nation. The case is different for USA. Furthermore, 80% of what is borrowed is actually being embezzled. That makes it make no sense further.

Is this one ok at all. You want to compare USA with Nigeria... Haba. when it's obvious that Nigeria (especially this administration) borrows money to embezzle funds. And such money cannot be accounted for.
