Who told u India is good? India Police and drug laws are USELESS. Many Nigerians are billionaires in India strictly by drugs. And their Police KNOW it is by drugs as they have no visible means of income. I can almost say they're as bad as Nigeria Police. But I won't say that because NOBODY can be almost as bad as NPF!

For a country of 250 million people, 2 people being arrested for drug trafficking in a day is extremely low. The issue with Nigerians is we will blast every drug arrest in the media because our journalists are just gossip bloggers. 4,400 Americans are arrested on drug charges every day. 1,600,000 a year. That is 1 every 20 seconds.

If America had the same lazy evil media as Nigeria, there would be 1 of these articles every 20 seconds.

congrats to Nigeria
Seeeee ARGUMENT!

Seeeee EXCUSE!!!!!!

Shameless ppl dem!!!!!

You have a point, but I think there are a few things to consider:

- Oyinbos don't just try to spread propaganda themselves, they pay others to do it. Some people will do anything for money, even if it's not that much. And when you look at a "Nigerian" publication today or years ago, look at who owns it. Even if Nigerians own it, it's no different from stooge politicians. And yes, oyinbos will invest in propaganda to those extremes. I could probably write a book on all the things they do. Oyinbos also exploit the poverty they create by enlisting desperate people. Furthermore, their media and search engines have more reach, and they're going to push the narrative they want. So, the voices of Nigerians that aren't in line with the narrative can easily get drowned out. The main difference now is that the world population is much, much bigger and very connected, so it's harder to control. That's why millennials and gen z can have an impact.

- Some Nigerians who go abroad have internal struggles. Some of the things they say could be ways to cope. Some who go abroad may also not have the awareness or health to understand and accept why certain things happen in Nigeria.

- Some Nigerians may come from such a poor background that when they go abroad and experience a middle class or even working class life, it's like hitting the lottery. They're not alone in this. You see it in other immigrant groups. It's such a dramatic change that people may have odd responses to it. There can also be a bitterness there because of life experiences. Poverty is traumatic.

- Some people were just raised by ignorant people. They'd be ignorant and chatting nonsense no matter where you find them. Most people can spot them a mile away and don't take them seriously.

- I also think that a significant amount of the negative talk is a way to try to protect Nigeria. It may sound strange, but creating fear can keep a lot of awful, exploitative people away. People from other countries do this too.
You're not incorrect but there are places where I disagree. I don't think oyibo are causing Nigerians to be psychopathically negative about themselves and Nigeria. I think it is either genetic or rearing, but I'm not sure yet. You will get a more realistic picture of Nigeria by asking a white person who has been there than asking a Nigerian because the white person will just give you the information and the nigerian will speak for dramatic effect.

There is a Ugandan girl i like watching who is touring Nigeria. Her mind is blown by how nice of a country it is. But she noticed nobody she spoke to had anything good to say about Nigeria. If you give these same Nigerians a computer, a microphone or a camera, they will yap the same trash they would have yapped if you had met them on the street.

Nigeria is a very good country. We have the lowest drug user and drug dealing rate in the world. We also have this mental glitch where every drug arrest ever made associated with Nigeria will be posted in the news and will excite Nigerians to hear about.

Meanwhile America is in the middle of a drug epidemic and they have enough sense to now that a person being arrested for selling drugs isn't national news. i wish it was oyibo causing the stupidity but it's not. How many times will you tell a Nigerian you're going to Nigeria and they'll start telling you about everyone who's been kidnapped? I'm i the US, 5,000 people are reported missing or kidnapped every year in Dallas alone and no Nigerian will ever tell me to avoid Dallas because of kidnapping. In 2025, 4,500 Nigerians as a whole were kidnapped lol.

Still doesn't justify random groups of people carrying out 'justice' on the streets. It's called barbarism.

I think there's more to consider there:

The response depends on the kind of oyinbo and the purpose of their travel. Oyinbos that regularly travel there for business or who are eager to experience it are not the same as the average oyinbo. The average oyinbo is dumb and whacked out. They would not be honest.

Also, the average oyinbo is miserable and massively insecure. It bothers them to see nonblack people happy and living well. Oyinbos rave about nonwhite countries where they think the average person isn't living better than them. They'll also rave about nonwhite countries where there's a significant sex industry and where the locals are impressed by them for existing.

Poverty, high population, and internalized racism:

Nigeria has a population of over 240M, maybe much more than that. And there are a lot of people who have seen a level of poverty that has a strong, lasting impact. I don't think the average person is fully aware of the psychological effects of poverty. It drives people to do a lot of things if they don't get treatment.

Some people have also been brainwashed by racists. It shouldn't shock you when someone with a bleached face or who goes on and on about light skin has negative things to say about a black country. It's mental illness.

I also think that Nigerians are just passionate people. So, right or wrong, you're going to know what's on a Nigerian's mind. grin

We always blame poverty and the west. China has a high population and India (until very recently) had both a higher population and more poverty. But both rich and poor Nigerians have a very loose negative mouth about talking to Nigeria that you don't see in the diaspora of those countries. Ghanaians, Togolese, Beninios and Cameroons don't talk about their country and people the way Nigerians do. It is easy for someone to tell you you're going to be kidnapped if you go to Nigeria completely unprovoked and based on nothing, so long as that person is a full blooded Nigerian. a white person, or an African who has lived in Nigeria will not tell you the same.

The reason Nigerians go to countries that are worst than Nigeria in droves is because they grew up hearing from everyone around them that they are in hell and anywhere, from Togo, to Gambia, and Somalia is better when they are objectively not by any metric. If you listen to Nigerians about Nigeria you will be convinced it's the worst country imaginable instead of a middle income developing country that has everything a person needs to live comfortably and do well (which it does).

It has nothing to do with 'internalized racism' that's not relevant in this part of Africa. Those are frameworks for explaining life in white settler colonies and Nigeria is not one of them. It's not as if Nigerians are internally racist about Nigeria and not Cameroon which despite being poorer and having less opportunity than Nigeria, Nigerians flood into under the pretense that everything is better than Nigeria. Gambia that receives aid from Nigeria, also has Nigerians lining up to get in there because of this pathological negativity. If you want an accurate take on Nigeria do not ask a Nigerian
