| Nigerian Filling Stations Reduce Fuel Price After Hike by Fareke(op): 9:36pm On May 02 |
By Ogaga Ariemu Nigerian filling stations reduced their Premium Motor Spirit price on Saturday, barely 24 hours after the hike. Checks by DAILY POST showed that Ranoil, Empire Energy, and other filling stations in Abuja adjusted their petrol pumps to N1,365 and N1,375 per litre respectively, down from N1,440 per litre on Friday. This means that petroleum marketers dropped their fuel price by N65 and N75 per litre. DAILY POST reports that the move was to attract patronage from customers. Recall that three days ago, Nigerian filling stations had raised their petrol pump price to between N1,365 and N1,440 nationwide after Dangote Refinery and depot owners increased ex-depot prices to around N1,275 and N1,290 per litre. DAILY POST reports that while the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and MRS Bovas filling stations raised their petrol price to around N1,365 per litre, others adjusted theirs above N1,440 per litre. However, with the latest fuel price reduction by Ranoil and Empire Energy, the majority of filling station outlets now dispense petrol between N1,365 and N1,375 per litre. This development comes as the ripple effect of crude oil prices continues to impact Nigeria’s domestic fuel price. Brent and West Texas Intermediate crude rose to $114 and $105 per barrel before dropping to $108 and $101 after the filing of this report. https://dailypost.ng/2026/05/02/nigerian-filling-stations-reduce-fuel-price-after-hike/

It doesn't make any difference to the already impoverished Nigerians. The bourgeois policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have sent many Nigerians to irrecoverable and inextricable poverty. Except petroleum prices are reduced to something between #500-600,people are struggling to make even one meal a day. |

Willy2025:Thanks for this because this is the reality. Why would anyone tell us it is now N1,350 ? As if that is tangible reduction. Had it come down to N1,000 I can understand that for making the news. |

Trump really deal with the rest of the world by invading Iran. Now who's feeling the heat? We warned them but they tagged us terrorists. Is economy sabotage not terrorism? Trump is a terrorist. |

When I see people defending the Tinubu regime, I just regret… You buy costly fuel, run a generator to power your phone, then come online to defend this failed government? That’s wild....honestly, it defies logic |

Is N1350 per litre reduce? Since I sold my car, I don't feel bothered by fuel price again. I feel one kind of peace in my heart. I can now buy good clothes and shoes. Before, good tyres, servicing, fuel, repairs comes before my personal needs . I will prefer solar vehicle in future. |

Ofunaofu:You are getting it wrong. Many of these governments defenders are paid to support the government. Most of them are worse off than Nigerians complaining about the present hardship but the small change that they get to defend the government has blinded their reality. Rotimi Ameachi confirmed that their government under the failed buhari did this and even gae them laptops and data to function. I believe this Government does the same thing since they are the same APC. It is pathetic because they will never stop. Selfish people everywhere!! |

| Re: Nigerian Filling Stations Reduce Fuel Price After Hike by Lithiumite: 8:26am On May 03 |
We are now buying fuel at $1 per liter, about $ 4 a gallon, what a time to be alive.....tinubu,needs to do something about this. The reason for this cant be far from the fact demand far outweighs supply as Nigeria supplies about 60% of west and central African countries also the dependence on alternative electricity from the grid for over 200m Nigerians and this will continually continue to but a strain on consumer prices on the country. The govt should as a matter of urgency make policies to make renewable energy such as solar and wind energy ,EVs to be more accessible to the people, reduction of tariffs on imports for equipments to be able to bridge the huge deficit in electricity supply in the country.....the alternative CNG drive should be more effective and be made available all through the value chain, this will be a win win for the citizens and reduce the pressure on petrol. PBAT till 31!! |

When pump price was 600+ some one once said they will make the fuel hard for us so that we will beg for it even if it is 1000+ per litre. |
