It’s tough luck for the thief, but why is the seller handing the item back to him instead of just taking his goods and letting the community deal with the criminal?

If the phone is 1.2 million, why say it belongs to someone who hasn’t even paid for it?

Smart officers will just seize it as evidence, and by the time the case drags on for three years, the phone would have either disappeared or be 500k.

This one of the main reasons Jumia stopped home delivery in some places.
Some of them will order for expensive items and when the delivery agent come to deliver it, they will snatch if from the delivery agent's hand and run away.
Alot happened in benin city, Riders were paying for losses.

Cash on delivery for 1.2 m made no sense at all. That was risk and madness in its absolute sense. My despatch man shows you the product, does not hand it over to you until he confirms from me to release it. I have maintained it that way for years. Payment on delivery in Lagos only and some close parts of Ogun state, i.e Agbara, Ajah, Badore, Ikorodu, etc. No delivery Badagry and to areas known to be lonely with surrounding bushes. No delivery in the night. Away from possible or simple delivery areas, you can choose to send your person to pick up personally. More than 50 k, pick up personally. Anything short of these, no deal. Safety matters a lot. Safety for the delivery man, goods and money. Too many crooked people everywhere.
