A better show of his political prowess was to have been bold in facing his opponents at the polls instead of using the courts, incarceration and intimidation to force his way into power. That's reminiscent of Sani Abacha, not master strategy.

There's a huge difference here.

Tinubu has only 2.5 million supporters. Buhari had 12 million supporters. There's a huge difference.

Tinubu was nothing on the national scene without Buhari. In fact, only 50% of Buhari's supporters voted for him.

Tinubu to Buhari is like Kwankwaso to Peter Obi.

What Tinubu did in 2015 is exactly what Kwankwaso is doing in 2027. Whether that will be enough for victory? We'll find out.

I blame Atiku more than I blame PO.

Peter Obi has been vocal about wanting transparent direct primaries. This was the reason he left PDP.

Atiku and co got him back to agree to a coalition.

Knowing all he wants is direct primaries which he has publicly advocated for, why go back to talking about consensus? That's taking someone for granted.

They both agreed to a fair process thinking they will outnumber him, then seeing that he started mobilizing other people to make up his numbers and compete (as contestants usually do, which Atiku also did against Wike in 2023, and which is normal politics), they go back to talking about consensus.
