I disagree please, there's UK used phone. I understand your point though, many of the so called UK phones are not from UK, but there are UK phones, I have bought a couple of UK used phones in Kassam stadium, Oxford. I bought laptop their and even ipad for my kids. They are cheap and functions well too. I bought Ipad 20 pounds, laptop 50 pounds and the phones 25 and 30 pounds respectively. They are working perfectly well with good batteries.
u bought them in Oxford, England, not in Computer Village, Lagos, Nigeria

Very correct... Most London used phones some important apps doesn't work in it...

If U must buy, buy from a known shop, don't be in a hurry to leave the place, go with Ur charger, after buying charge the phone for some minutes, install your most important apps and make sure everything works well before leaving.
don't try it with snap, instant locking

I bought brand new Compaq laptop in 2008 for N150,000 it came with pre installed Windows Vista and 1GB RAM, 100GB HD.
Am still using the laptop, after upgrading it currently to window 7, 4GB RAM, 250 HD. It is working in perfect condition. Am intending to upd'grade it to 8GM with 500 HD.

Buy brand new gadget if you get money, that time I bought my laptop N150,000 was when US$1=N60
Meaning that I bought it for US$2,500
Dont upgrade further.
Danger zone!

You are very correct in your writeup.
Infact, anything that has to do with electronics, be it AC, Fridge, Computer, etc. Should be bought new if you don't want to be a regular visitor to repairers.
I avoid buying used phones like plague no matter how clean it is, you can't compare it with a brand new one.
d question should be how many people can afford brand new gadget or electronics

Started using phones in 2008 and I've never purchased a used phone. I upgrade from flagship to another every 4-5 years. Used phones comes with a lot of baggage I'm not willing to deal with.

Good point that's true to some extent but in an economy where people have to manage money, it's unrealistic to expect people to buy most items brand new. This advice should be rather directed at telling people what to look out for when buying used. Not asking them to buy new. A brand new iPhone 16 Pro Max for example is over 1.5m. you can see see fairly used ones for a little over million if you look well. Laptops now are for rich people. You can't expect people to become millionaires before they can start hustling online. That'll be a paradoxical ask.
A bottle of chill Trophy for you.
Dont mind the dude.

I have a friend with a policy regarding second-hand materials: “If the object was sold and is in good condition, it means the previous owner had no issue with it. Therefore, I will enjoy it.” It has worked for him all these years. Back then, he always bought fairly recent Blackberry phones for half their full price.

Re: Before You Buy That So-called UK Used Phone by Bossman(m): 4:08pm On May 05
As the OP stated, "UK Used" is just a label slapped on these devices. The overwhelming majority of these devices have never been used anywhere near the UK. It's just that Nigerians have been known to seek devices when they are said to be UK used. So the sellers label them as such. People just need to be cautious on any used devices they purchase, and to do a thorough testing of the device before payment. Nigerians in general have a very low purchasing power. So most will NOT be able to afford new flagship devices from the major brands. However, the local brands seem to have done a decent job on their devices, and new devices from them should suffice for most.

It is like putting a 10kg of rice in a bowl that can carry 2kg maximum.

Your laptop is not designed for further upgrade.

Changing the bowl to carry 10kg means changing the laptop.
