Do those social media platform pay better than what music platforms like Apple music, Spotify, audio mack, etc pay artists for number of streams?

Like I want us to really put things into perspective. What those social media platforms pay, can it afford a creator to live large without rubbing advert gigs?

I know FB, IG, Twitter and YouTube pays creators in Nigeria when their account is monetized. Only thing I can't say with certainty is how much it is per 1000 or 1M views.

So while moetization payment might generally be poor across board, the top dawgs dem would be eating good. For a creator like VDM who arguably gets the most views per post on IG, I won't be surprised if he makes up to $10K each month.

1M views is a lot o, and those steaming platforms no get money reach these social media platforms, so there's that.

I asked what payment was like for Nigerian creators. And music streaming Numbers is around $300-400 for 1 million streams from Nigeria. $200 for Nigerian content creators on IG doesn't sound too crazy.

Why do you think they dish out movies every week. And movies are even great for two reasons

1. Traffic won't come only from Nigeria but other African countries including USA, UK, Canada and other tier A countries.
2.. nollywood movies are 1 hour +, more ad slots.

VDM major goal ins YouTube that's why he makes sure his videos are 8+ minutes above to get manual ad slots. Facebook and Instagram are just jara to his earnings. This video with 76k views will give him around $80 with 1$ rpm and it will outperform and earn more than the same video with 1M views on Facebook and IG

Dayo Ekong, south-west chairperson of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has come under criticism on social media over alleged sabotage of Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), during their time in the party.

Ekong, the former Lagos chairperson of the Julius Abure faction of the LP, quit the party on April 3 alongside Dudu Manuga, citing protracted leadership tussles and legal disputes.

She subsequently joined the NDC and was named among the six new national vice-chairpersons representing the geo-political zones of the party on April 7.

Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, former governor of Kano, joined the NDC on Sunday alongside key opposition figures from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a post on X on Monday, Ekong welcomed the new entrants, describing their decision as a bold step forward for the party.

“We warmly welcome every Nigerian who has joined this transformative movement,” she wrote.

“Together, through the NDC, we are committed to rebuilding our nation and creating the Nigeria we all envision. This is our moment. We move forward with purpose, unity, and determination as we reclaim and redefine our country.”

However, many social media users who reacted to the post accused her of working against Obi’s interest during their time in the LP.
