If incumbents now handpicked their successors, then nobody should say that we are practising democracy

Seyi Makinde made a mistake, he purpotedly smite faces of his party members who had been with him from day one to annoint a man who was in APC all the years but joined PDP few months ago. Would his party work for him? That is just ingratitude

In politics, loyalty matters a lot. When long-time party members feel sidelined in favour of a recent defector, it can create: resentment, reduced commitment during campaigns, silent rebellion,
or even defections.

Many PDP loyalists who supported Seyi Makinde from opposition days may naturally feel overlooked if someone who spent years in the APC suddenly becomes the preferred successor.
2023 no few months ago??

This one will lose against any APC standardbearer.

Barr. Sharafadeen Ali or Bayo Adelabu will beat him hands down.

Engr. Seyi Makinde in Oyo State history has the most significant Revolution on Infrastructure and Projects.

My level of admiration for the Governor improved significantly when after five years I visited Ibadan, Oyo State.

Ibadan experienced rapid Urbanisation under Seyi Makinde's watch. Majority of struggling Lagos Residents who couldn't cope with the expensive rents and cost-of-living relocated to a cosmopolitan Ibadan and found a new Haven.

Well tarred roads, functional street lights, covered gutters, Master plan alignment and building set backs have changed the outlook of the erstwhile rustic and rural old Ibadan optics.

I strongly recommend Engr. Seyi Makinde for higher National Leadership position.
I am APC supporter! BUT...Ibadan transformation under SEYI was unprecedented.
I left Ibadan for Abuja in 2021.I return 3 years after and I felt like relocating back.

Like I always tell people,if peter OBI realky did well in Anambra, there should have been mass relocation of people to that state

This doesn't look as a good political move. Even if Ajimobi is not alive, his disciples still respect and maintain some level of loyalty to him. Seyi had no good record with the Ajimobis. They dont forget nor forgive his resistance to allow them bury the former governor at Ikolaba. They are surely looking for how to strike him after his tenure. Now, it is easier with one of his disciples as seyi's successor. It won't reach 6 month after inauguration that everywhere will become blurring for him.

He could have chosen someone within his circle and if he fail to install him as a successor, it would be more honourable than working to install a disciple of his arch political rival.
All this one don go na

Ajumobi family don forget him self

Of course it's Seyi. Until Nigerians rise and conquer the following, we are just a joke to the political class.

1. Weaponized poverty
2. Weaponized ignorance
3. Weaponized religion
4. Weaponized tribalism

Until we overcome the above 4 points, we aren't ready
