If I am confirmed as the Minister of Power, I will not stand here and say tomorrow [we will have 24 hours of power].

But whenever I tell you about a very high standard [of service], I would be sure that visible improvement is seen across the country in the shortest time possible.

I promise that we’ll reduce uncertainty for Nigeria with clarity. Distribution is inconsistent, and even if we misalign, it will cause a lot of issues.

Metering gap continues to erode trust. Today we have 44% metering gap in Nigeria. But our government is doing extremely well. In the last one year we’ve rolled out over 1 million meters across [the country]. We need to ramp up and make sure that we make more progress.

The governance of this sector remains under pressure. In simple terms, we are trying to build a viable power system on a firmer operational and financial structure.

How can you promise 24-hour power? What do you know about the technicalities of power generation, transmission and distribution?

Nigeria should be begging Professor Barth Nnaji to return as a power minister. That man is a living testament that 24/7 power supply is no rocket science

Rode out 1million meters across 300 million households.
Just as I was discussing with my friend in Nigeria this morning about the former minister of power, who has been in the system for 2 and a half years and has failed to deliver the mandate his oga at the top promised Nigerians. He didn't leave as soon as he knew things wouldn't align with the OGA mandate. After much budget paddling and internal embezzling, he left like a thief in the night, just as the passenger told us, allegedly.

Now this man is saying he can't promise Nigerians, but your oga explicitly told Nigerians that if he fails in the power sector, no voting for him. Why is he projecting for another election when he should just bow and leave as a man of integrity?

The same Tinubu who borrowed to install solar power stations in all the car ports and the Aso Rock building.

We have military barracks buildings collapsing, a federal university hostel building dilapidated, federal hospitals in rural areas lacking beds, hospital equipment, and professional personnel. All they do is build 1000km roads, leading to Zamfara, Maiduguri, Calabar, when they can actually build rails to connect these long-distance states, when they can actually provide inter-city trams, when they can actually project a better usage of the existing federal roads and put them to other uses.

The bolded shows that Electricity is functioning in the particular country. Because trams use electricity cables connected around the city to function. Without trams, Nigeria will never have full electricity functioning in that country.

You think Nigeria population is still around 200M , delusional

Why do you think that Tinubu is borrowing more than Buhari and PDP presidents, if not that he is spending it on power supply for us huh

There's so much behind this power crisis in this country than meets the eyes...

The forces against Nigeria to have constant electricity is greater what anyone can imagine.

Tinubu already promised constant electricity. Nigerians are eagerly waiting for him to fulfill that promise, so your opinion is irrelevant at this point.

Meta said you should talk to your neighbours as if they can hear you. That's how you know artificial intelligence from real. Have we tried talking to our governments? How Nigerians became comfortable with this thing is insane, some people use industrial generators that work with diesel. Now everyone is going solar too because of government negligence. Tinubu himself changed the power supply at the Villa to solar.
GCFR - > Generator Commander of the Federal Republic.

Generator noise is not the loudest of your problems, it is the fumes that are the silent killers and probably one of the reasons for the increase in cancer cases in Nigeria without us knowing. Polynuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) are a major component of fuel generator fumes. Carcinogenicity of these compounds has long been established. Those pollutants are not safe for your air and direct contact with your skin, water and environment. Imagine sitting behind the exhaust of a vehicle. That's what we are doing to ourselves.
If you cannot sleep well because of the noise, your health is affected. If you cannot hear well, because of the noise, your hearing is affected.
If you cannot breathe well because of the smoke, your health is affected. If you have the money, switch to solar but what sense does that make if you still live in an environment where your neighbours still use generators? You see why Nigerians need to solve this problem as a collective instead of doing I beta pass my neighbour competition.

Who did this to us undecided All I want to say is they don't even care about us

There is nothing. It is just about wise, strategic investing. If there is anything mysterious it is the phantom that the country should have all it's power eggs in one basket called natural/petroleum gas and the vain hope that it can piped throughout Nigeria successful and efficiently to power the tens if not hundreds of power stations that need to be built when gasoline has not flowed in our pipeline network for thirty odd years.

Most countries have a strategic power mix to meet varying conditions and situations, no less power security and in this regime of free market if we have all our power feedstock priced at international oil and gas rates, one lunatic is the west or east can start a war and ruin us economically.

There is nothing behind the power crisis that existed before we gave All Promises Cancelled, APC leaders looters the opportunity to implement their change agenda.

Did you not see Adelabu Penkelemess confirm that APC has done what Fashola and Buhari promised 11 years ago? What else do you want huh

Fashola to Nigerians: 'If You Want to Have Stable Electricity Supply, Vote PDP Out in 2015'

Jul 11, 2014.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, while marking his 2,600 days in office at an elaborate ceremony held at the Blue Roof of the Lagos Television premises, has said voting out the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from power in next year’s general election is the only way the country can have stable electricity.

According to The Nation, Fashola said electricity crisis in the country is caused by lack of ideas and insincerity of purpose on the part of Federal Government.

"Yes I agree with you that it is possible to generate electricity and to make sure that everybody in this country has electricity, we have to do the right thing. But you know what, the only way that you and I will have electricity in this country will be to vote out the PDP.

pendy79:
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, on Sunday evening boasted that he could provide uninterrupted power supply to Lagos residents between six and eight months.

Fashola spoke at the commissioning of 8.5 megawatts Lekki Independent Power Project (IPP), the fifth of such power projects in the last five years in the state.

The governor said the addition of the Lekki IPP was a testament to the fact that stable power does not require rocket science to achieve in the country.

While challenging power distribution companies in the state, Fashola said, “Let the Eko DISCOs sign a contract with me, giving part of their concessioning to the state government, in about six to eight months, there will be power in all homes in Lagos State,” Fashola said.

He added, “So, let no one say that he has no money to deliver power for the entire country. This is the limit to which the law allows us to do, but we have done this to make a statement that power can be generated. So, when they come with lies that power is impossible, you can tell them that we have power here; we make it possible”.

The project, courtesy of the state government, in partnership with Heritage Bank, is to serve Lagos State Water Corporations in Lekki Phase 1, Oniru, Victoria Island and Ikoyi, as well as over 25km of public lightening in the Lekki axis.

You know the disaster is that while APC was able to hold the number 1 to account and press their neck, they've been able to muzzle the press and bully the citizens so that you can't ask their king any questions. Tinubu, not Adelabu should be the one responding but they have ascribed this mystic power to themsleves and created a godlike image around him so that they will not he held accountable for anything at all. The hypnosis is going on.

It's becoming crystal clear that the problem of Nigeria is foundationally inbuilt. Many who come into the system have good intentions. But the destructive structure that hindered the progress doesn't allow any meaningful change. This is the bitter truth. The parties involved find it difficult to speak out. The turnaround maintenance of the Nigerian refineries is a perfect example.

Another post for you all to know your politicians are eediots for not giving you power 24/7👇
SixSeven:
When Trump posted that he would bomb Iran to ancient civilization by targeting their bridges and energy infrastructure, the only thing that came to my mind was energy infrastructure. I've given up on bridges because in Nigeria, mediocrity is celebrated. 4th Mainland bridge is still on their mega plan while the Lagos-Calabar highway is completed since Obidients, Wailers and enemies of the State are already selling gala on its highway, hide your face!!!🙈

In this ongoing war, Iranian officials announced last week that they have restored electricity to their people despite attacks from Israel/US. 👇

Iran restores power to most parts of Tehran and Karaj after suspected attacks on infrastructure

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLGojjLbXKU?

It makes me ask the question, are we living in any civilization if we can't have lighthuh

A country at war cares so much to restore power to its people, they even provided updates on the power situation in their country, they didn't use the war as an excuse but in my own country, these wicked people use all manner of man-made excuses to put us in darkness, pain and suffering. Every Nigerian becomes an analyst, analyzing waterfalls from Kainji Dam to river sediments of Bakassi peninsular. May woe betide una 👐 It's not a curse. It is what you need because what you have shown us is that you are ungrateful. We are ungrateful people in this country and we should stop insulting God. Nigerians are the most ungrateful people on earth because God blessed us with abundance of resources and wealth but we insult the creator by giving weak excuses and ensuring that people suffer while we take care of our own immediate family and friends. We don't like ourselves, we just pretend we do.

In other countries, they make sure people are okay first. Here, we want to steal everything for ourselves and family, most people don't care about the state. They send their kids abroad, no excuses. They holiday abroad. They show off abroad. What kind of people are these? I can't just speak for God because if I were the one who created this kind of people, I would be so irritated because I see how you take pride in making your own people suffer but stash the money abroad. The president is in power, the supporters are more interested in peppering Obidients. If the president does well, isn't it to everyone's enjoyment and benefit? What sort of tomfoolery makes you bothered about opposition when you have the opportunity to use the goddamn power to fix things? I see in the war threads how people support either side but they don't reason. That country is a terrorist country as they claim here on NL but they have light. They have freaking light. No excuses. They are under sanctions. Here, they give all manner of excuses, sabotage the country, cache out our money, only for it to be used by their oppressors. Clowns 🤡

Nigerian incompetence thrives on world chaos so they can have something to justify their dirty bottoms. It's such a shame and a disgrace that Libya and Iran can have light but in Nigeria, we are ready to blame the world economy. Hisses
