Please help me. I am in F11 Category (unmarried adult son/daughter of a US citizen). I am not supposed to marry but can have children in this visa category. I am not married but have kids. My interview went well. I just had a call from the embassy that they need my GPS address to my house for which I have sent them. Please if they come and know I'm single and live alone. how long will they take to approve my visa or how is the whole process going to be.

I don’t really know how accurate this is but it seems like the interview date for family based dq (in Lagos) has been back dated as of 2nd April 2026. Just last month the date was at March 2026, and now it’s gone backwards to August 2023. This is mainly for those under the category of family sponsored visa. If anyone has better information concerning this please share.

It's simple na, if you don't have any you pay for it during your medicals and everything will be done alongside your medicals.

In my case, I didn't have any records of being vaccinated for anything at all, so I paid for everything and I was vaccinated.

Just keep your hopes up bro. They will review it soon. Trust me they need our japa money just as much as we need the japa..

USCIS is not on pause,

Processing has not stopped in USCIS. The only thing that has been paused stateside for USCIS is adjudication..basically making a final decision

Hi all. We are at the NVC stage of our U. S family based preference category. F1(Single adult children of U. S Citizen). We got our welcome letter early June paid all the visa fees and filled the DS 260 form online. and by the month end of June we submitted all documents to NVC. I read from a forum on Visa journey that the NVC usually write petitioners or beneficiaries on their Case complete. Those that have gone tru the experience, how long did it take to get case complete after submitting all documents to NVC? I created this thread for those going tru the NVC stage or who have already passed through the stage to share their experiences on the forum.

Note: the thread is for those going through the NVC processing or those that have already passed through it, for the family preference category.

@justwise, Pls sir, I beg u not to delete this thread, as it may help those who have just started their NVC processing ask questions on how to go about their case. As u know, our immigrant V. O on the immigrant visa section does not answer questions that has to do with NVC processing or how to go about filling forms at that stage. Good luck to all of us still waiting to join our folks in the states.

why don't you reapply for the NPC birth certificate or make a complain about the omission , however i think the LGA birth certificate depends on the year of birth...…. born after 1992 requires LGA and born before 1992 requires NPC by NVC.... Though, Am stand to be corrected on this...…

He may be interviewed, however no visa would be given because of the pause.

If you're born after 1992 then LGA certificate is appropriate.


If born after 1992..then you need to take you LGA certificate to NPC for correction.

The ban only affects visa issuance, everything else continues as usual.

The only downside is those who have already interviewed may need to redo their medicals once ban is lifted

1. If you’re on a budget , no need to spend money on hotel. Download bolt or uber app for phone , when 5am reach … you book your ride go embassy…. Interview didn’t commence at 6 : 30am on the dot though… started at about 8 - 9 ish , but you need to be there early.. you get my drift

For photos, you can look for any old photos or ask the petitioner or your siblings if they have any since you lost your data/ phones.

You can also use wedding pics if your petitioner was there at your wedding or any pics with grand kids.

I used pics with grandkids .

If you have pics of petitioner with your brother you can print that out cos it shows familial relationship since your brother left with F2.

It's not likely that they will ask you to do DNA.

I didn't stay in any hotel in island, I stayed mostly in one hotel (I have forgotten the name) in Ojota and Isno hotel close to the airport. The fees were 25k.

I would use Bolt to commute to and fro the embassy. From the hotel to the embassy with Bolt was around 8 to 10k

Sorry for the late response. Been swamped with work. I stayed at Beni’s apartment. It’s 30k a night. It’s about 10mins from the embassy. For F3, they basically want you to prove relationship with your petitioner. In my case , my husband was the main applicant. They only asked who petitioned for him, why he is going this late, while his brothers were already in the us, then they asked my kids questions like age and stuff.it was so quick. Nothing to stress about. Wish you luck.
