In the last three days I haven't had good night rests due to persistent and uncontrollable itching on my skin.

Though, right from time I've always had itches from time to time, but not as severe as this one currently.

These few days have been hell for me, as I can hardly sleep at night.

Over the years, I used to take a particular drug for Filariasis. It's a tiny drug that is white in color and has the exact size of a Piriton tablet. I would take only two of it for three or so months. But since I left home, I haven't seen where I can go to get those drugs. At my former place of residence, I used to go to a Primary Health care centre to take it. The drugs weren't even allowed to be taken home, you have to swallow it right there. And you must not eat before going to take it. You go in the mornings, take it on an empty stomach and wait till 1pm before you eat. It's being over five years since I relocated to a new city and I don't know where I can get the drugs. The drug is Free, but you will have to pay for a Card there.

I don't bathe with Rain Water or boil water to bath during the harmattan season, to avoid the itching.

My arms, armpits, tommy, behind my neck, scrotum and pubic region itch. When I scratch, It get swollen a bit, then the swell disappears after a few minutes, sometimes I injure myself when I'm scratching. The painful part is it itches me even to my anus. Inside my anus, I have scratched and scratched and the place has become painful. I have to be extremely careful whenever I use the restroom and need to wash my nyash.

This has caused me a lot of discomfort. I'm really depressed. The fact that I'm going through a lot now, makes the whole thing really tormenting. I've always prayed that God should keep my health, so I don't get bedfasted for any reason, because if I'm unable to go to work and provide for myself, nobody will. I'm all I've got.

I really need your inputs here, my brothers and sisters. Health is wealth honestly.

You need to see a Medical doctor for clinical evaluation.There are many possible causes of pruritus. Don't joke with your health. Social media isn't a Clinic.

No sane person will play with their health.

I had the same problem for years and even UK doctors were not really able to help. The tablet Claritin helped but did not really defeat the problem so I don't think Nigerian doctors will be of much help to you as the condition is very rare.
The condition is the body's immune response to inflammation which I realized after taking pro biotic tablets to fix stomach issues. To my surprise the itching reduced drastically a few hours after taking the tablets.
I then decided to be eating fermented food instead of taking the tablets and got the same result. I now drink water kefir, eat sauerkraut and pro biotic yoghurt. So really my advice is for you to get pro biotic tablets which are rare in Nigeria unless you are in Abuja or Lagos.
A more realistic option is for you to learn about making sauerkraut and also making water kefir. Fix the inflammation and the itching should more or less stop. Take this post seriously, I've been there.

It is not a skin infection. I am facing such issue presently. It has to do with your liver. As I speak to you my medical team here in canada are wireless working on it. I was told my liver enzymes are high that is why my body itches. Infact I have done liver biopsy because of this and pls stop alcohol consumption and for stop using unnecessary medicine because it gonna be causing more damage to your liver. Go see a doctor but your liver as to be checked properly. My was bad that I even scratches the under of my foot. Go see a doctor but bet me it's not a skin infection. It is caused by your liver

If you use sponge to scrub when you bathe you need to stop and use just bar soap or a shower gel. You can use the sponge once or twice a week. This worked for me as I used to have crazy itches mostly during the summer. I don’t have any itches again since I stopped scrubbing the hell out of my skin.

I once had it and did test, all the labs said I didn't have bacteria in my system , I thought it was bad water but a pharmacist told me to ask for microfilaria test which I took and it came out positive

It may be fungal infection. I once suffered from a similar thing in 2016 in Aba during my NYSC. I had to return back to my home state after all hospital medications couldn't solve the problem. My uncle recommended a leaf called African Peach also known as Nauclea latifolia 💚💚 🌱 It is called Egbo egbesi in Yoruba, Ubulu inu in Ibo and Tabasiya in Hausa. 🎋 Other names: Pin cushion tree. Pluck the leaves, soak them in water after washing and squeezing. Leave it for like 45 minutes to one hour. You can now start drinking it. One glass 3 times daily. You can equally bath with it morning and evening. It was very effective in my case. You may want to give it a try too. May the good Lord heal you IJN.

Please face your liver issues and work towards getting well. Mine isn't liver.

same here, and that's why I advised OP to go for the LFT to know whats up. that was the early sign of jaundice for me, in a few weeks his eyes and pee will be yellow. I scratch under my feet, arms, anywhere
