Pilgrims from Ogun State currently performing the 2026 Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have visited several historical Islamic sites as part of their spiritual activities in the holy land. The pilgrims were taken on a Zyarah tour to Masjid Quba, regarded as the first mosque built by Prophet Muhammad. Speaking during the tour, the Islamic guide, Imam Buhari Inakoju, explained the significance of the mosque and narrated some of the important events that took place during the lifetime of the Prophet. The pilgrims also visited some notable historical locations mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, where they were taught about the history and relevance of the sites to Islam. During the tour also, the pilgrims were taken to one of the ancient local markets known for fruit trading during the early days of Islam. Many of the pilgrims were seen shopping and interacting with local traders, while appreciating the cultural and historical experience. Some of the pilgrims expressed joy over the opportunity to witness the historical landmarks firsthand, describing the experience as spiritually uplifting and educational. The Zyarah exercise formed part of activities designed to deepen the pilgrims’ understanding of Islamic history while performing the Hajj rites in Saudi Arabia.
