Northerners Accuse Tinubu of Running a Yoruba-Dominated Government "No Re-election For Tinubu"

A growing wave of political tension is sweeping across Nigeria as several northern political figures and socio-cultural groups openly criticize President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s pattern of federal appointments, alleging that his administration has failed to reflect the country’s federal character principle.

The criticism, which is rapidly gaining traction across social media and political circles, centers on claims that key positions in government and major national institutions are allegedly dominated by individuals from the South-West, particularly the Yoruba ethnic group.

According to some northern stakeholders, the imbalance has created feelings of exclusion among many Nigerians from the North, South-East, and South-South regions, who believe their zones have been sidelined in critical decision-making positions.

Speaking during recent political gatherings and interviews, some northern leaders warned that the perceived marginalization could seriously affect Tinubu’s chances of securing support ahead of the next general election.

“Nigeria belongs to all ethnic groups, not one section alone. Federal character was created to ensure fairness, balance, and unity. What Nigerians are seeing today raises serious concerns,” one northern political stakeholder reportedly stated.
The controversy has sparked heated debate online, with hashtags related to “Federal Character,” “Marginalization,” and “2027 Politics” trending across Nigerian social media platforms.

Critics argue that appointments into security agencies, economic institutions, and strategic government offices should reflect the diversity of Nigeria to promote national unity and trust among citizens.
Political analysts say the issue may become one of the defining national conversations ahead of the 2027 elections, especially if opposition parties capitalize on growing dissatisfaction in some regions.

However, supporters of President Tinubu have defended the administration, insisting that appointments are based on competence, loyalty, and experience rather than ethnicity. They also argue that previous administrations faced similar accusations and that governance should not be reduced entirely to ethnic balancing.

Despite the defense, pressure continues to mount as opposition voices from the North, South-East, and South-South increasingly call for what they describe as “inclusive governance” that fairly represents every part of the country.

Observers believe the coming months could witness stronger political realignments as regional blocs begin positioning themselves ahead of future electoral battles.

With Nigeria’s unity and political stability once again at the center of national discourse, many citizens are watching closely to see whether the presidency will respond directly to the growing concerns over inclusiveness and federal representation.

When someone is trying to reposition the country even his mother will criticise him, but the good thing is that, I have not seen any serious contender stopping Tinubu from completing his 8 years . Baba go just laugh all the contenders.

Tinubu is a one term president of Nigeria and the last yoruba president of Nigeria.

Nigerians now buying one liter of fuel for 1,400 naira and some hypocrite still have time to defend the failed tinubu government.
