Peter Obi does not fully understand the political dynamics in the North. The core northern states will not vote for a joint ticket with Kwankwaso, as they view Kwankwaso as a spoiler. Just observe carefully, how many states does Kwankwaso actually command followers in, aside from Kano and parts of Jigawa? How many politicians have defected from other parties to the NDC from the North since he left the ADC? The NDC has no grassroots presence in the North.

Atiku will also face challenges, as he may not achieve the required spread in the South. So, in my opinion, the odds favor Tinubu. Although he is not widely popular, his party has the necessary geographical spread.

we Igbos are not desperate for Obi to rule but instead Atiku to rule Nigeria let Tinubu continue

Instead Tinubu was seen few weeks ago throwing jabs at Atiku … they don’t even see obi as a threat…

Real politics is about strategy, timing, and adaptability, not emotional grandstanding. The same politicians you support have changed parties, alliances, and loyalties whenever it advanced their ambitions, so this attempt to romanticize political suffering is laughable.

...And I'm not even talking about his recent move to ADC.

I'm talking about how he betrayed and left PDP to work with APC in 2014.

I'll also vote for Atiku, but only once he has purged himself of the following:

1. purged himself of his propensity for corruption, including his tendency to use SPVs for personal gain and his tendency to be disloyal and unable to speak the truth at all times.

2. Reimbursed Nigerians for selling public assets (like ALSCON) to friends or himself at below-market rates, or served a reasonable prison sentence and undergone rehabilitation.

3. Convincingly repented for prioritising personal gain over national interest.

4. Turned away from the desperation to contest elections regardless of his chances or zoning.

5. He must assure Nigerians that he has distanced himself from marabouts.

6. He returned the N100 million that had been siphoned from the N1.16 billion disbursed by the Ecological Fund Office.

7. He must satisfactorily explain his role in the $180 million Halliburton bribery scandal.

8. Satisfactorily explained his role in the $16 billion NIPP power project.

Even in all of this, Alhaji Atiku seems cleaner than the incumbent, Alhaji Ahmed Tinubu. However, if you want a new Nigeria and a leader with an impeccable reputation, join me in voting for H.E. Peter Gregory Obi.
