You don't even need jamb to enter UK university to study any course bro
It’s not all about the UK or quality; if there’s no need for it, it should be scrapped — simple. We are likely to face the same problem HND and BSc are facing. The policy makes it seem as though the affected courses are less important, or that brilliant students are not needed there. The implications are far wider than you can imagine.
Except the policymakers can find a way to tighten and curb malpractice otherwise WAEC, NECO NAPTEB results are not that reliable

Not a good development at all
It will reduce standards. UTME- JAMB is a process that weeds out poor candidates.

My dear, we are in the fourth industrial revolution. It’s no longer about education alone, but the value you can offer. Nigeria, as usual, will only be late to the new world order.

If an HND engineer can operate mechatronics machines and a bsc plus masters can't you will have to join the queue

Jamb exam should be totally scrapped.

Jamb should do the job of admission documentation. Universities should handle their UTME.

Another hair- brained idea. The thinking that lowering the bar will solve the problems.

Tinubu, I stand with you any day and any time, and thrice on Sundays.

Once you pass WAEC, you are good for the university. Why many exams because you want to become a modern farmer to feed the nation?

How serious are you guys?
A government sees a field as critical; instead of raising the bar, they decide to destroy the small bar that was supporting it.
And you come out to say this?

Jamb is the worst thing that happened to Nigerians. Very useless and should not be defining the destiny of young people.

If we need to take Jamb, what is the function of Waec? We are just not sensible in this country... Hopefully things we change with time
Re: Education, Agriculture Candidates Exempted From UTME - JAMB by banku: 1:15pm On May 11
There are sciences in agriculture that require qualifications just as other courses. My only problem with this is that agric and education students will be discriminated against as inferior intellect.

The reason for extra examinations like Jamb is to make sure secondary schools live up to standard before university. It saves universities the tasks of taking more responsibility for remedial courses.

BUT, if they are short of students in education and agriculture, it is the right move.

This shouldn't be for just education and agriculture. It should be for all of them. Jamb shoud be scrapped. The country where i stay, you already know every university's requirement for a particular course, like how many credit you need in your waec to study law example. So when you get the credits you can apply for admission to that university. Simple. Right now, my niece who got all the credits to study her course in the university can't study now because she got 248 in jamb, less than cut off mark so she will now wait/ waste a year waiting for the next jamb

FG uses JAMB for revenue making. They won't scrap it.

Let's see how it goes and what it will yield.
Many people will start studying Educational and Agricultural courses

Funny thing, is that these courses will land job offers or they become self-employed before some other courses that’d need the JAMB

What do you mean "that how bad ."

I wonder how most of you guys think o.

You already got the point about encouraging people to go into farming. So what's with all the whatnots?

Agriculture is practical even to the application of modern science. Why not cut all the educational bottlenecks and allow aspiring farms to come on board and do the needed to feed the nation and perhaps sub Saharan Africa?

This is a good policy from Tunji Alausa who seem to have his head well rested on his shoulders.

No be everything be criticism.

How is writing UTME a gain? Many advanced countries don't require Nigerians to write their exams before admission is granted for their undergraduate programs.
