⚡Lithuania plans to deploy troops to protect shipping in Strait of Hormuz. Lithuania’s top security body has approved plans to send troops to an international mission claiming to safeguard shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, according to the president’s office. The State Defence Council, which brings together senior political and military leaders, endorsed the deployment of up to 40 personnel, including soldiers and civilian defence staff, to join allied maritime security operations in the strategically vital waterway. The proposal still requires parliamentary approval before it can proceed, the country’s official broadcaster Lithuanian National Radio and Television reported. |

⚡US Navy Faces Rising Costs for Hormuz Missions With Strait Still Blocked. As long as the Strait of Hormuz remains unsettled, the US Navy faces millions of dollars in extra costs each time it sends a destroyer through the waterway, and such passages on their own are unlikely to reopen it.

basilico:The Panama Canal is just bad business for china, that’s not making an effort to neuter china. You and the author are using the wrong word here. The USA depends on cheap Chinese imports, that’s how it is and the Panama Canal has nothing to do with it. If you want to make an effort, produce your own goods and encourage your allies to do the same. If the west doesn’t buy Russian oil, gas and fertilizer, they will sell to someone else, simple. E no concern you how china does business. I intentionally left out Greenland in my post to give you the mining perspective of rare earths, but you’re back with this Greenland nonsense. Dude the USA and Canada have a lot of rare earths, they don’t need Greenland. They are not mining them because it’s too expensive compared to buying from china. They don’t call them rare earths because they’re rare, it’s because the mining and processing is complex and expensive. For now only china can produce them cheap. After seeing the USA beg Iran for ceasefire, you’re still talking about what awaits china in Taiwan. If you care about needless deaths then speak up about the kids in Iran killed by tomahawk. Talk about civilian deaths in Gaza and Lebanon. You also said the USA obliterated sales of Chinese air defence, how exactly did they do that? Did they stop Pakistan, Iran or maybe North Korea. China is not known for its military influence, they influence economically, I don’t understand the point you and the author are trying to make. If you stop reading 🤡 stories , you’ll be fine. Take care

⚡The U.S-Israel war with Iran is now hitting global food production. Iran’s disruption of the Strait of Hormuz — a key route for fertilizer, fuel, and shipping has caused diesel and fertilizer prices to surge across Asia. Farmers in major food-exporting countries like Thailand are cutting planting, reducing fertilizer use, or abandoning crops entirely because costs are higher than potential profits. Thailand’s rice sector is being hit especially hard. Some farmers are leaving fields empty, while others are planting only part of their normal acreage. Urea shortages and record fuel prices are making farming financially unsustainable. Since Thailand is one of the world’s biggest rice exporters, reduced production could push global rice prices sharply higher later in 2026. The crisis is spreading across Southeast and South Asia, where millions depend on agriculture for income and food security. |

⚡Trump on Iran: How stupid are they? Stupid people. They think that, well, I will get tired of this, I will get bored, I will have some pressure. There is no pressure at all. We will have a complete victory. We already, in theory, have a complete victory from a military standpoint.

⚡The head of the EU's foreign policy department, Kaja Kallas, commented on the EU's possible choice of a person for negotiations with Russia: "If we give Russia the right to appoint a negotiator on our behalf, you know, that would not be very wise. I think that Gerhard Schröder was a high-ranking lobbyist for Russian state companies, so it's understandable why Putin wants him to be this person — so in fact, you know, he would be sitting on both sides of the table."
