A worker identified as Joshua Shapara has received N25 million compensation after losing his arm in an industrial accident at a factory in Lagos State.

According to reports, the incident occurred in 2024 at Anjia Prefabrication Limited while the victim was working in the moulding section of the facility.

The accident reportedly resulted in severe injuries, leading to the amputation of his right arm.

The matter was later referred to the Lagos State Safety Commission for investigation and regulatory action.

In a statement, the commission said the company paid N25 million compensation to the victim, while also stressing that the incident could have been prevented through proper workplace safety measures.

Officials further highlighted the importance of machine guarding, safety audits, and strict compliance with operational procedures to prevent industrial accidents.

The commission reiterated its commitment to enforcing workplace safety standards across industries in Lagos State.

SO the company paid, that's unusual.

But he has to get something doing though, 25 million can't last forever.

A factory worker losing his dominant arm is a hell sentence. I hope his family won't drive him to liquidate that money because if so, that's him and penury for the rest of his days.

I would likely suspect several deductions on that sum. Tax (>#1m income), the agency staff and lawyer would also take their cuts for logistics. Let's talk about treatment and living expenses he would go through before he finds a profitable means to use that money. I can bet less than #10m would be left which can't even do any quick returns business today.

Seriously,it shows how desperate Nigerians are in getting money at all cost.The irony of it all is that money has never settle all their problems rather it has increased them.To everyone reading this story, 25million is a serious money. But, before this money would determined and released, a number of things would be involved, to start with, the service of lawyer would be needed,the care giver,the medical bills,his immediate family needs, future plans and a lot more, upon all there are people who wouldn't be happy with him spending all the money without giving them something.What a troublous evil world.

Some one in a factory close by lost his hand last weekend, I thought na the story be this sef.
