Poultry has the fastest turnover.
10 acres is too much for poultry, however.

PS: Why is this thread on FP? Did the op bribe the mods?

As nairaland business men no wan gree build company website for my hand, me go soon join you for farm.

On the topic:
What's the scale of 10acres? Like how many feet by how many feet.

Palm is a bit of a longer stretch, but high return once it starts producing.

I'd recommend sharing the plots you have into 3, 1 third can go for palm plantation, another third can go for cassava, while the last third can go for annual crops - corn, vegetables, that way you can also do land rotation with the slot for casava and corn after harvest.

If the land is yours, Oil Palm or Plantain.

If it's a rented land, Cassava, Tomatoes, Peppers.

P.S: If you're doing oil palm, you can plant Cassava in between.

Re: Advice For A Newbie That Wants To Start Farming by XtremeConsumer: 4:33pm On May 12
Do corm and cassava jeje.

You can do small poultry once the corn is good enough.

It will be profitable then.

If you do only poultry, you go cry.
Re: Advice For A Newbie That Wants To Start Farming by Caaz: 4:36pm On May 12
Plant corns in there with extra supervision then when it's plumb at 3 months sell it and plant cassavas

You might want to also consider planting yam seedlings too(7 months)maximum then you uproot and sell out.

For your peace of mind and sanity. Start with crops. Cassava and maize are a good way to start if you get good varieties. You see poultry business? If you don't have experience, don't go close. You can't learn on poultry without loosing resources.
Re: Advice For A Newbie That Wants To Start Farming by Ralp226: 5:36pm On May 12
Speaking from experience, run run run from poultry business, I lost a lot of money on 2019, I did everything right, build a house for them, bought medicine for my fouls then but when they start to die, I nearly cry and later people go say e get hand when poultry business good for

Oga go into cassava or yam or corn if it’s rented land but if it’s yours then the best is palm oil, it’s forever my g but if you rent the land nor go into palm oil ooh because this 9ja nothing is guaranteed before you spend money finish later hear say the community or government need the land and also beware of herd men going into farms to destroy it so find a good location for it

Location in Poultry is important look at the local market are they people who prioritise chicken and egg. Cassava and palm oil are universal. I will locate poultry and fish farm in Ibeju-Lekki rather than in ikorodu for example.

May God bless the work of your hands.

Am a farmer, I will not want you to burn your fingers. It's not about acres of land but farming rightly and smartly . You don't need the entire 10 acres to farm for now. Is your farm land closer to any market ? Cassava farming at the moment is a NO NO, even maize. Do you have access to irrigation or Borehole? I will stop here for now . Just to mention but a few

Congratulations 🎊 on joining the actual "wealth people's club", on that advice it all depends on your location and budget, if you can go into peppers on like 2 acres sef you go cash our big time, otherwise do layers if you get capital and time, whatever you choose gain knowledge on that aspect, and I mean get bastard knowledge to the extent of professorship, education is key when it comes to agriculture, wishing you and all agripreneurs all the very best
