WizardOfNG:I think you're the ignorant one here, united kingdom did it to Chelsea fmr owner Abramovic, they sold the company and didnt even give him a dine from the proceeds. If Nigeria kills cameroonians simply because they're striving in Nigeria and our Government do not do anything to it the Cameroon government can decide to to shutdown Dangote's company on their soil as a way of retaliation because they can't come to.nigeria and give justice to the matter. So im in full support of what Oshomole is saying. The truth is, if xenophobia have not affected you you wont know the pain. |

Samtob90:If Nigeria is serious, we should sanction SA officially. Bilateral trade with SA is in Nigeria's favour. We should not be targeting South African businesses operating in Nigeria. We are behaving like a rogue and lawless nation doing that. If Nigerian leaders really view the killing of Nigerians as unacceptable then we should start by sanctioning SA over bilateral trading we host with them. The likes of Oshiomhole love sabre rattling emptily to con us that care and are working. Why can't he insist we stop crude export to SA that may have an impact on his own lavish income? They know what they have to do if they are ready to get justice for Nigerians murdered in South Africa. Th USA can invade Nigeria, to grab perpetrators themselves, if two of their citizens are murdered.in our nation. They won't be targeting Bayo Ogunlesi and his business interest.

Felicity001:I have always strongly condemned xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in SA. It is unacceptable. This round of it that has led to the death of two of our citizens must not be tolerated. Yet, our indolent leader must not use the development to burnish their own reputation. Why does Oshiomhole suggests soft targets, i.e South African-owned businesses operating in Nigeria, when he should move for cessation of bilateral trade with South Africa beginning with Nigerian ending their supply of crude to them? Is it because he knows that will affect the income of Nigeria which may affect him and his private interests? They are taking you for a ride bro. Leaders know what they have to do to protect Nigeria globally. Yet they never do those things. Na today? They leave us to our fate globally to be mistreated and then begin impotent sabre rattling when issues like this arise. Why can't Nigeria cease bilateral trade with South Africa instantly till we get justice for the Nigerians killed in SA? You think other nations won't view us guilty of distractive cowardice and failing our people if the best we can suggest is targeting businesses when we can go directly for the jugular of SA over trade relationship with them?

WizardOfNG:Do you know SA's president has major share in MTN ? After Osho's outburst at the floor of the Senate The SA president for the first time has com to condemn the attack. Werey lafinwo werey |
| Re: Rufai Oseni & Adams Oshiomhole Clash Over South African Investments In Nigeria by WizardOfNG: 8:53am On May 13 |
obongtunji:All that talk of SA President and shares in MTN na wash. If we mean business, then we enter trade war with SA if we are ready to go to any lenght to protect our people. America etal do it all the damn time. Oshiomhole dey whine una. Don't we have examples of how other nations behave when in our situation that never involve targeting privately owned businesses? They initiate trade war and hostility instantly !! Nigeria should instantly stop crude oil supply to SA. Oshiomhole should suggest that. Yet he won't because he may even be benefiting directly or by proxy with Nigeria's bilateral trade with SA. |

DaProfSeunfunmi:Oga, these people are worse than herdsmen because they have government backings. Have you seen them walking on the streets, moving from house to house in cities with guns, cutlass, bows and arrows? Herdsmen don't do that! They're discrete. If that's not government policy, then what's that? Drastic measures for drastic actions! Trump took over a country for being a cocaine transit point but we cannot nationalise a company for killing our citizens! Really? |

osayuwamwen:Did you consider that this is a business done by 2% of the population unlike the banking sector you referenced. Nigeria has mastered the banking sector so well. That's why you see banks littered here and there. It is only when you come to the technological aspect that they lag behind. |

descartes400:So of all the things a wise man like you can use to threaten south africa, it is MTN and Multichoice? You clearly have no thinking faculty. Has there been any led delegates to southafrica to broker any peace talk to start with? So if you had a headache, you would prefer to cut off your head to avoid the pains? Think, please |

harsysky:Thank you. This is the point I have been making non-stop. If we are serious, and our leaders are ready to protect Nigerians at any cost, why not bilateral trade war against SA? Kukuma go for the jugular as USA etal do all the time. Which one is MTN, DSTV etc? |

The TRUTH is that President Nelson Mandela will be weeping today in his sleep, For this cannot be a South Africa he worked and died for ,as many of South African leaders , -have abandoned the Rule of Law, -Equality Before the Law, -Democracy , -Education for Total Development and -Ensuring Fairness to All Blacks in African Content! Besides, why the rise of Xenophobia - IS NOT BEING CONDEMNED BY PRESIDENT RAMAPHOSA IS STILL UNIMAGINABLE!😩 |

Oshomole is the best senator in Nigeria. |
| Re: Rufai Oseni & Adams Oshiomhole Clash Over South African Investments In Nigeria by WizardOfNG: 11:56am On May 13 |
Bluntemperor:The bolded is true yet the world is becoming more protectionists today and anti-immigration sentiments is rising everywhere globally because resources are becoming scarce and many nations now see a need to prioritise the needs of their own people above that of immigrants. As a critical and pragmatic thinker, I can understand it. Nigeria may have to do same some day if we suddenly become far more prosperous than others leading to high levels of immigration into our nation. What I will never understand is the nature that predisposes a people to hunt down and kill others merely because they are foreigners in their land. What is sad is that we cannot make more of what God has given us, which is a lot, to turn Nigeria into a nation no Nigerian would wish to leave to migrate to south Africa in search of a better life. |

Astrid4:Many of you have made this example and I guess it is because Nigerians are avid football fans. Yet most of you don't appreciate the full picture. The UK Government did not target all Russian businesses in their nation. It was specific targeting and Abramovich was sanctioned because he is a Russian oligarch with wealth linked to state capture of Russia by Putin and his cronies. The world wanted to cut off Russia's wealth to diminish their ability to fund war against Ukraine. Asset seizure of cronies of Putin, like Abramovich, was legitimate tactics for a NATO-led world that felt Russia did wrong yet did not want military engagement with Russia knowing the nations nuclear capacity. You may not accept that but Russia opened itself up to any retaliatory effort after declaring war on Ukraine. War is different business entirely. Almost no rules apply.

Wow, Comrade Oshiomole really got Rufai in this one. Possibly changed Rufai orientation on the way to address killing of Nigerians in South Africa. Oshiomole basically imported the Economic method used by Western countries in resolving issues with other countries. Where Rufai is wrong in the comparism he brought up is that North or South, we are all still Nigerians still under the Law of Nigeria, not the Law of the State. soarnews: |

You don't just break down a bridge completely, you do it gradually. Look at the volume of trade and the amount involved, apart from the bad network and monthly subscription on dstv and gtv what is the Nigeria government benefitting directly from MTN and DSTV. Lets first start from there. Look we argue to learn. WizardOfNG: |

Nationalization by Government take over should necessarily not be used here. The Government can come in by making such companies to be sold to Nigerian businessmen who can run the business. Government take over would not be the solution. harsysky: |

Then they should treat the citizens from countries where they make large economic benefits with the respect that should be accorded them. The problem is not just with the killings, but with the fact that the South African Government have not tried anyone for the killings of foreigners. I believe this should be accorded to every citizens of other countries. It just so happen that Nigeria has Economic Leverage over South Africa on this matter. Aslo, mind you, the Nigerian company only need to get a capable Technical Partner to ensure a smooth continuous services after take over. harsysky: |

Felicity001:Politicians should fight with what they control. I.e international trade etc. They should not encroach into areas that will affect and punish ordinary Nigerians . I appreciate MTN and DSTV. So do many Nigerians. Put the vote to them and they will demand government leave those businesses alone and engage in bilateral trade war with SA instead. Oshiomhole is just being a guy man. He should enjoy his big booty SA Olosho, he is flying around in private jets and giving foot massage, in peace. This effort to position himself Nigeria's alagbara ain't cutting it with me and neither will it impress any exposed Nigerian. |
