How do you finance annual infrastructural deficit of 100 billion dollars with annual budget of 40billion dollars and 10-15% budget deficit without borrowing and increase tax coverage?,100 billion dollars is only for infrastructural deficit,not to talk of other sectors.Even after fuel subsidy totalling to approximately 10billion dollars was removed,the total annual spending still fall short of the 100 dollars infrastructural deficit by 50%.
Lets be practical,rational rather than being emotional, No president can develop this country without borrowing.Our budget of 200 million people is not even up to 50% of budget of southafrica with just 80million people.
The most important thing is to makes sure borrowing is tied to an infrastructural project,instead of borrowing to pay salaries,subsidie and defend naira;and also to maintain a healthy debt to GDP ratio.so far, Nigeria has one of the lowest debt to gdp ratio in the whole world.
