First of all, thank you for creating this opportunity to support members of the Nairaland community. Initiatives like this truly make a difference.

I have been a member of Nairaland for several years, and throughout my time here, I’ve always tried to contribute positively by sharing useful information, helping where I can, and engaging respectfully with others.

If selected, I plan to use the laptop primarily for learning and professional development. I am currently improving my skills in digital and tech-related fields through online courses, research, and practical projects. Having a reliable touchscreen x360 laptop would greatly improve my ability to learn effectively, practice consistently, and work on multiple tasks without interruptions.

Beyond personal growth, this laptop would also help me become more productive academically/professionally by allowing me to:

I'm into forex trading and I've being trading for 7 years. I've invested a lot in it but forex trading is a game of luck. I'm planning to invest switch to learning programming alongside it with the believe that in 5 years I will be a pro at the same time my forex skill would have reach a very high stage by then. Without a laptop learning programming will be impossible. Hopefully I'm one of the lucky 4 that will be selected. I believe if I invest the same years invested in forex trading into programming. It will definitely be a different story.

As a public school teacher serving in an underserved community, having a laptop will greatly improve both my teaching effectiveness and my students’ learning experience. My school has limited access to modern educational resources, in fact we don't have a computer at all. So a laptop would help me bridge that gap by allowing me to prepare quality lesson notes, create engaging presentations, conduct research, and access up-to-date teaching materials online. It would also help me keep proper student records, prepare assessments more efficiently, and introduce learners to digital learning opportunities that they may not otherwise experience.

For my learners, the laptop will make lessons more interactive and practical. I will be able to use educational videos, online resources, and digital teaching tools to simplify difficult topics and improve understanding. This exposure to technology will also help students develop basic digital literacy skills that are increasingly important in today’s world.

The laptop will support my continuous development as an educator. I will be able to attend online training, workshops, webinars, and certification courses that will improve my teaching methods and professional competence. It will also help me collaborate with other educators and access educational platforms that promote innovative teaching practices.

In addition, I plan to use the laptop for online tutoring as a side hustle. I applaud your kindness. My current laptop is bad, it have been with the engineer for some days now, I need it for my work , I just got a job as the financial manager of ELIZADAN INVESTMENT LIMITED. My laptop got bad at the wrong time, using my phone to do clerical activities, documentation is really hard, I don't have enough funds yet to get a new one. I just started learning Forex trading recently and I mainly use my laptop to study the charts. The Laptop will really be of help to me at this time.

I am a software engineer graduate and active job seeker currently building my career in backend development, AI integration, and data engineering. My current laptop struggles with the demands of running development environments, compiling Java and Spring Boot applications, and handling the multi-tool workflow that professional software development requires. A reliable, high-performance machine is not a luxury for me — it is the difference between being able to compete for international remote roles and being held back by hardware limitations.

How it will help me personally, professionally, and beyond:

Professionally, I am actively applying for remote software engineering roles with international companies. Every CV I optimise, every project I push to GitHub, every API I build is done on hardware that is holding me back. A touchscreen x360 laptop would allow me to run IntelliJ IDEA, VS Code, Postman, and Docker simultaneously without crashes — the baseline every professional developer needs to compete globally.
