I don't know if it's possible to still submit my application because I just got noticed of this thread late.
I'm a football lover and, a graduate(B.A) and a critical thinker.
Lately I've found myself growing a strong interest in writing football articles, breaking down strategies and everything that needs analysis.
I have worked for some football pages, writing interesting articles from them and anytime I post one, there's always a great audience interaction than other posts not from me.
I lost my phone early last year and so far it has been difficult for me to speed up due to problems it's constantly developing
I believe if I'm lucky to be one of the fortunate few prize winners, it will go a very long way and be a big stepping stone for me in this my journey of sports journalism and analysis. Thanks

I've been on Nairaland for 3 years and this one really touched me.
I do front-end development and I'm currently learning back-end too. I'm a Computer Engineering Student of Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri.
Real talk, I do everything from my phone. When the work gets too much for my phone, I go borrow my neighbour's laptop and manage. It's not easy but I push.
A laptop will honestly change things for me. My portfolio is already live at https://uzor.netlify.app I built all of it with just my phone.
I also want to say thank you to Mayorall. The way you look out for young people like this is not common. You are genuinely changing lives and that is not a small thing.

Thank you, brother. I’m a recent graduate of electronics, and I currently use an old laptop that has been with me since around 2017, even before I got admission. I’ve really spentt a lot into keeping it running, especially throughout my undergraduate projects.

It’s a Dell i3 6th generation, and over time it has developed several faults. Since I started my project work in school, I’ve had to repair it repeatedly from bios issue to power, seriously I've spent quite a lot just to keep it functional.

Right now, I’m competing in a ML and AI challenge focused on signal analysis and signal polishing, and unfortunately the system has failed again at a very critical time. Honestly, I feel exhausted and a bit stuck at this point. It's even staring at me 🥲

I wouldn’t even mind giving the laptop out to anyone who needs it and can also repair it, because my work has become quite demanding. I do design circuits, work on PCB development, and also handle ML/AI tasks, which require much more processing power than this system can handle.

I’ve been thinking hard about how to raise funds for a better system, and then I came across this opportunity. I’m really hoping for a chance to move forward.... Thanks bro 🙏

Academically, a laptop would greatly support my studies in project management. Many courses, assignments, and learning materials are now provided online, and having a laptop would enable me to attend virtual classes, conduct research, complete assignments, prepare presentations, and participate in group projects effectively.
Professionally, a laptop is essential for my work as a virtual business assistant. It would enable me to communicate efficiently with clients and teams, manage schedules, prepare reports, organize data, attend virtual meetings, and carry out administrative tasks effectively. It would also open doors to remote work opportunities and help me build a stable and sustainable career in project management and business support services.
As someone who has applied for the SheCodeAfrica Free Laptop Scholarship twice with no success, I'm giving this a try believing that I might get lucky this time as It would equip me with the tools needed to learn, work and grow academically and professionally

I have been a nairalander for almost 15 years. I just got a job as civil servant at Tai Solarin federal university of education Ijebu ode, Ogun state transport and admin unit. Hi. I plan to use it for full time trading on the Nigerian stock exchange and also use it to teach other Nairaland members how to setup their stock brokerage account and buy stocks themselves without relying on third parties.

The laptop will greatly increase my efficiency and productivity and help me deliver value not just to myself but to others. Using a mobile phone has limitations compared to using a laptop. So I believe this laptop will help me do the things I love better, which are teaching, trading stocks and finding other profitable investments.

I must commend you for this wonderful gesture and intention to give out these laptops which I know would change some situations of the people that would be lucky to have it.

Right here from me, if I could get it,
1. Being a pastor in the Pastoral field and a Ph.D holder in Pastoral line (though don't own a church and I don't plan to have now), it will help me to complete and type my books that I have using pen to write for long.

2. Read and re-read again and again to perfect it will now be easy through laptop.

3. It would enable me to do more research because, the PhD I completed was hectic due to lack of laptop.

4. It would enable and ease me in my upcoming postdoctoral fellow program I applied for especially in the area of SPSS ( Statistical Package for Social Science) for dissertation, research and projects.

5. It will enable me learn more on SPSS and to teach undergraduate how SPSS software works.

6. I love to write, preach and teach, as one of the tools I need, It will enable me to have stability in the areas of research and information, have my teaching prepared and delivering it with laptop to project instead of using pen or using printed copy.

7. Finally, I wish the lucky dudes happy using.

I’m a videographer and video editor, and in August 2025, while returning from a client shoot, I was robbed. I lost my Sony camera, MacBook, microphone, and other work equipment.

That incident affected me deeply because my equipment was my livelihood. I couldn’t complete pending client projects and had to refund jobs I had already collected payment for. Since then, things have been really difficult financially.

Right now, getting a laptop would mean more than just owning a device. It would give me a chance to start working again through video editing while I gradually save up for another camera. I already have editing experience and active work samples on my Instagram page.

I’m looking for an opportunity to get back on my feet and rebuild what I lost.

I’d truly appreciate being considered. Thank you so much.

If loyalty to Nairaland was a university course, I’d probably be a professor by now. 😄

Come October this year, I’ll officially clock 20 years as a Nairalander. Two solid decades of reading, learning, contributing, arguing small-small 😅, and most importantly, helping wherever I can.

Over the years, I’ve contributed meaningfully across several topics and created educational threads that have gone on to help and impact hundreds of people. I’ve always believed that knowledge is sweeter when shared, and that spirit has guided my interactions on the platform.

My posting history is there for everyone to see — no tribalism, no hate speech, no unnecessary insults. I try to treat people with respect, even when opinions differ. Life is already hard enough; no need adding extra gbas gbos online. 😄

As for what I’ll use the laptop for — it’ll be a huge support for my new job in translation and transcription. A reliable touchscreen x360 laptop would make my work smoother, faster, and more efficient, especially when handling long hours of typing, editing, listening, and multitasking.

This won’t just be a gadget for me; it’ll be a work tool, a productivity booster, and honestly, a timely blessing.

Goodevening Team Mayorall,
Let me begin by appreciating the offer because its bound to better the lives of 4 nairalanders (hopefully i get to be one of them).
To your core question of how i intend to use the laptop if selected, i just have a simple answer. It will help me resume and complete my 3MTT training on Data Analysis and Visualization which i had to abandon because of lack of a good laptop. The system specifications required for some of the software that is required were beyond reach of my current HP Compaq 6730b.
If this is achieved, it would mean one person less from the dependency quota and this would as well provide me with better opportunities than i currently see to make a living and contribute meaningfully to my society.

Firstly, I'll like to commend this initiative as this brings positive changes to Nairaland and the community at Large. God in his infinite mercy continue to bless you abundantly.

I was learning UI/UX and was making good progress because it has been one of the fields I so much dream of. But that dream was cut short and couldn't be a reality when my laptop stopped functioning earlier this year.

My learning stopped, I couldn't continue learning because I wasn't only learning, I was also practicing what I was learning using my laptop and some other tools I paid for.

I tried every option I could to get a laptop, even if it's just a small one to continue learning, but God hasn't answered my prayers yet. All the money i saves always end up being used for something else. I believe I am going to achieve this because I keep working hard and praying to God every blessed day.

Being selected as the lucky winner of this laptop will not only means I'm able to go back to learning what I love, it also means I have been given an opportunity to achieve my dreams. The rare opportunity which I'll forever be grateful for.

My name is George and I have been a member of this community for over 3 years. I am grateful for this opportunity.
What I plan to use the laptop for:
I am currently building a digital services business called The Daily Plug, professional flyer design, AI photo editing and content writing services. Right now I operate entirely from a Redmi phone with 4GB RAM that lags constantly and cannot multitask. This severely limits what I can do for clients.
With a laptop I would be able to:
1.Design higher quality flyers and logos for clients
2.Complete Fiverr verification and launch my freelance profile properly
3.Learn and complete free online courses including IBM SkillsBuild AI certification
4.Serve more clients faster and more professionally

How it will help me personally,
I am a 22 year old factory worker earning ₦50,000 monthly trying to build something beyond my current situation. A laptop would be the single most transformative tool I could have right now. It would help me escape financial limitation through legitimate digital skills and entrepreneurship.

I'm a Power systems researcher and graduate engineer currently serving (Nysc) in a power plant in Niger state. I run simulations (for research and publication) on the stability of utility scale renewable energy systems and converters because I hope to develop myself to a level where I can meaningfully contribute to global energy security in the near future (starting from Nigeria).

Getting your laptop will help me continue my work, as my old laptop got spoilt while I was working on a project last week
