Please can someone explain to me the new process of getting visa appointment date. Because after filling the videx form they are asking to upload proof of blocked funds and tuition, if I make this payments and join the waiting list which may take so long, that's too financially risky or will they prioritize if these are paid

With this new VFS oral submission are oral interviews still taking place, because I checked online and people say you’ll just be asked a few general questions at most, take your biometrics, submit your documents. Maybe do a test and that’s all for you.

Good day everyone. I’m preparing for a German student visa application from Nigeria, and I’ve run into multiple name/document issues, so I’m looking for guidance from anyone who has handled something similar.

I’m above 18, and my NPC (National Population Commission) birth document has name discrepancies:
• My name arrangement on it is Surname – Middle Name – First Name, instead of the correct arrangement used on most of my other documents.
• Also, my father’s first name on the birth document appears to be incorrectly spelled.

In addition, I discovered inconsistencies across my school documents:
• First School Leaving Certificate: only Surname + First Name appears (my middle name is missing).
• BECE / Junior WAEC: Surname + Middle Name + First Name.
• NECO: also Surname + Middle Name + First Name.
• WAEC, B.Sc and Passport all check out as Surname + First Name + Middle Name.

I have been made to understand that some of the school certificates’ (BECE AND First School leaving certificate) issues CAN possibly be resolved with an affidavit such as One and the Same Person or a name confirmation affidavit, so I’m mentioning that for context.

I’m trying to know the safest order to regularize/reconcile everything especially the NPC birth certificate before my student visa application. I’ve been told different things, including:
1. Doing an affidavit for name correction / one-and-the-same person
2. Doing a parent’s High Court Declaration / Age Declaration
3. Applying for a fresh NPC birth attestation or correction.

Has anyone in Nigeria successfully handled something like this for embassy, school admission, or visa purposes?

Which process worked for you, and in what order did you do it? I’d really appreciate guidance from anyone with firsthand experience.

Sorry please just a question... does the embassy return ur documents with the visa and passport? Or they returned the documents earlier and then passport when visa is ready? Normally i know back when documents are returned without asking for passport, it was likely a rejection.. But i don know if it has changed... Can someone please shed light... (Family reunion visa)

I think one and the same person should be necessary. I also have the same issue and i think those who are much more experienced should share more light on this issue

Please, is it possible to attend an interview with an unfunded block account?

Also, what is the most convenient way to pay into block account?

Is sending money to a friend in German advisable or paying directly from Nigeria to BA?
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Alyssaxo: 10:28am On May 18
Why would you go for an interview with a block account not funded when it is a requirement ?🤦🏽‍♀️

Expatrio is the most preferred now. Coracle is good but I don’t know if it’s still effective.

If you have a trusted friend or family in Germany to do the payment for you it’s way faster , but paying here in Nigeria is also great.

Thanks for your response.
The money is not yet available that's why I am asking.
I was thinking, someone could attend and send the funded BA on request.

Good morning everyone, please does anyone know what month they're currently in? and with vfs is it actually moving faster? I've differed my admission twice having to pay the semester fee to keep me enrolled still
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Alyssaxo: 12:01pm On May 19
They’re still in August 2024. Currently VFS hasn’t issued any AD yet for 5 weeks. 🤦🏽‍♀️ But truly VFS was fast, maybe if they start issuing dates it will be faster. When did you apply?

They will not prioritize. My client is currently on the waiting list after paying BA. Joining the waiting list is the new way to get appointment date and without having a complete file you will not have Appointment date
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Echoketh(m): 4:08pm On May 19
Good day everyone, I recently graduated from the university and want to apply for student visa for master's study in Germany. I'm aware of the waiting period and want to join the waitlist as soon as possible, but I'd like to know if i can join the waitlist without having all my documents complete?
Currently I have not received my BSc certificate (I'll receive it by august) and also I don't have admission letter, motivation letter, and sponsorship letter ready(can get that done soon).
I heard it's possible to use dummy documents as placeholder and once i have everything ready I should upload them before I can receive appointment date, please is this true?
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by AYFikayomi:
Hello everyone,

A friend recently had his application rejected because the course he wants to study was considered not aligned with his previous degree. However, we believe there may be grounds for an appeal, since his university confirmed that they consider the courses aligned, and they are the ones responsible for determining whether he qualifies for admission.

We also noticed that the application number listed on the rejection letter was different from the one he received after submitting his documents.

From what I understand, there is no longer a free appeal process and one now has to open a lawsuit. Does anyone have experience with this? Any successful lawsuits, or would you advise simply creating a new application instead?

Thank you

I don't know about the success rate but appeal is you best option at the moment, although the process is quite tedious and most be done within one month of receiving the letter

Good day everyone.

Can anyone who has recently gone via the CAT A/special qualifications criteria, or know anyone who has done so, please help me with the wait time/timeline from submitting your visa application to getting an interview date and eventually your visa?

Also my old NPC birth certificate is laminated. Does this pose as an issue for me or do i have something to be worried about? If yes what should be done about it?

Thanks.

You are on the embassy waiting list yet?
Challenge is RPTU does physical enrolment. You may not be able to enrol and deferment may work if you won't be able to join by Oct 1. Otherwise, I strongly recommend that you continue to try other schools like University of Cologne's International Masters in Environmental Sciences.

Hello everyone,I'm considering applying for masters but the waiting list is discouraging me, because the school I'm applying to gave me admission before but refused to defer my admission due to visa bottlenecks.
I don't want to waste my money applying whereby I may miss starting classes thereby not having a good chance of getting visa.
The other time I was told that the student visa section was closed.
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Rfactor: 7:13am On May 30
Which ever one you feel save is good.

Moreover, sending through friends reduces the cost of international transfer fees.
That is the only difference.... I do that also....

Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Rfactor: 7:17am On May 30
Ja , that is the new german process now.

My advicewouldbe....
Use the admission letter to initiate the visa processing and chill...
Because I heard they are giving interview dates to ppl who applied from end 2024. You can fund after securing an appointment date.

That nothingto be worriedabout.
That our idealogy. All my documents were also laminated excluding my Birth certificate.

There were no issues encountered. The original documents serve solely to authenticate the copies..
