for naija you can pay photographer 30k to 50k for a job. if there is any fancy photography going down it is at the very end of the project. call in the guy and supervise him as he takes the photos. afterwards you do your own picking to confirm what you need. two weeks ago we engaged drone operators to take pictures of some sites and we told them exactly what pictures we wanted . we paid 50k for this with some dragging from my stingy self but now we are hearing that some dude had to study 'interior design photography' for 4 years.

i am unfortunately knocking on 50 and my focus is on delegation so i can ACTUALLY RUN a business rather than get bogged down in technical wahala so i call double BS.

an interior design business involves designing , estimating, wooing clients, specifying and buying materials, importing special materails from abroad , working with multiple artisans and we have oga frank saying he spent 4 years learning photography to grow the business . if he had even said presented himself as the face of the company and drew in clientele it would make sense. if he said he had invested and had equity in the company. instead we get a cock and bull story if how a 52 year old learnt 'professional interior design photography' that a 20 to 30 year old could have been contracted to do.

and as i said - what interior designers typically put in their adverts are the presentation renders and not the finished product. by the time the site is ready you are usually behind schedule and client is pushing you out so they can take over and at that point you can't really be taking pictures .

To be honest, Nigeria is a classicist society and if you package yourself well you can get introduced to the right people. It helps immensely if you are coming from abroad and have your accent intact. Also if you have a token white dude on your team.

Anyone doing work in that shoreline estate will likely have a line to any Nigerian billionaire who wants to build in that estate. A person who wants to spend up to 1.5 billion on his project will easily drop 50m or more.

One thing I personally learnt is that the better your concept 3d model, the more client buy-in you get. Then throw in personal touches like the clients exact car model, or proper regional flavor and you are there.
