They say "Curiosity killed the cat..."
Turns out there's an ending part to that saying, which is "...and satisfaction brought it back".

There's no one as curious as a young child, and for some of us during those young years, we let our curiosity almost lead us astray 😅. So let's do a little throwback to those moments when we really learned the hard way, we excitedly did something or try to find out how something worked, and we have never tried it again since then.

Share yours - What did curiosity make you do when you were still growing up as a child that you have not tried again after that event?

Lemme share mine...

Mine was when I went to a Welder's shop to do rabbit cage - Nepo kids no go understand. You know that rectangular iron cage wey dem dey set one kain for inside bush, you'll put corn inside, so if the rabbit (some of una go say na bush rat), enter to eat the corn, the cage to lock.

So, the welder was actually constructing it while I was there, mehn na so I start dey look the light wey dey come out from the electrode thingy o. I just dey admire the thing, dey see the sparks coming out from the welding process. Werey welder man wey suppose be adult nor tell me make I no look am. Na so I carry rabbit cage go house; excited and anxious that by the next morning, I'll be dining and winning on rabbit pepper soup.

That night, I couldn't sleep mehn! It was as if my eyes were being brushed with wooden rods; I couldn't even open my eyes! I be think say I don blind! Eyes wey I norva even use well? Mehn It was a terrible night.

That was when I realized why the welders often wear those special glasses. Since that day, anytime I pass welder shop, I nor dey look them twice. Na composure nor dey even make me run 😅

I was curious if I added cubes of sugar to pepper soup of it would make it sweet...


I did and almost vomited.


Also I was curious why these adults where stressing themselves to grind beans to make akara. So I washed the beans added all the ingredients and fried my akara like that.

When I saw the end result I knew I had messed up. I called our gateman's kid- Jaja, who was younger than me and dashed him my special akara recipe!

I'm curious to know, did your eye issue resolve naturally (and after how many days) or was any medical intervention required ?

Thankfully, it resolved naturally... I can't say exactly, but probably by the next day, because I don't remember experiencing the same thing after that first night.

Nothing. I was sheltered during childhood. I didn’t have the opportunity to attempt reckless activities.

when I was about 9 years old .
I was wondering what will happen if I touch naked electric wires I saw in our house,very fast.
Then out of curiosity I touched it......

It shocked me really hard that I ran out of the house shouting...
Then a local dog ran after me, wanted to bite me....
Till date I don't go near anything electricity.
I would have died for nothing

Touching an electric wire.
I knew it was not right. But there was an electric wire above so i convinced my immediate sister to touch it. It was above so i carried her on my shoulder to touch.
Unfortunately it shocked the both of us.
Meanwhile, i thought i was safe hence i wasnt the one touching it

Mine is burning papers, one day i was burning paper inside the kitchen, there was no gas that time, and the flame began very big. I thought it was safe. From that day i stopped burning anything.

In the late 80s was about 7rs old. Lit a matches and throw it kerosene inside jerry can just to see what happes. The matches just died. I was luck it is not petrol.

Looking forhoney. getting bee bites for my trouble

Curiosity made me struck one bee hive.The kind sting one of them have me Ehn,till tomorrow I no dey near am.

The normal magnetisation of iron experiment we were taught in the school, were you wind copper wire round metal and connect each end of the wire to +ve and -ve to the battery, then after some time, the iron can attract some metallic particles like the way magnet do. Omor curiousity made me to connect both end of the wire to the socket thinking it will magnetise the iron fast fast compare to the battery. Na so house begin dey spark anyhow when I switch on the socket oo.

Nah... being sheltered doesn't stop a curios teenager even indoors. Your moniker shows (m - male); you didn't tinker with electronics? Try to connect speakers, work with motoroller - a mechanism that was gotten from cassette radios that year? I once attempted to plug "motoroller" directly inside wall socket - curious to see how fast it will be, so I can invent fan in our sitting room - sha NOR TRY AM EVER is all i can say 😅🤣.

Funny experiences. My own is scary and funny too. I go lick iceblock from the freezer, my mouth gum there. I managed to escape. I never tried it after that experience.

I cut myself and the scar is still on my arms till date.
I was trying to make a dress for my doll using a nylon and a knife. You know the rest.

Spying women changing clothes or taking their baths. Now even the ones I'm seeing for free irritates me! Can't wait to date a sweet clean younger lady

Oh I forgot to add that I lost total control that day, ever since I never smoke anything again...

I TRY LEARNING BACK FLIP AND LANDED WITH MY NAKE SO SINCE THEN I VOW NEVER TO TRY IT AGAIN TILL TODAY.

I opened a new BLACK and WHITE TV Popsi just bought to see how it functions. It was still inside light when I touched some wires with my hands.

YOU CAN GUESS THE REST . lol. Satisfaction did not bring me back o. It was Milk and cold water and then some serious beating later in the night that brought me back to reality. LMAO !

I was around 9 or 10 thereabouts during that period and wanted to study ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING “ when I grew up”. That singular act changed my own orientation and future. lol

Na so i think say my finger will on the TV, so i take 1 pin 🔌 of the plug n insterted one of my fingers so the other plug and try to make the second pin shook am into the light🤦🏻

I once tried this too. I saw it in a cartoon.
I only touched my tongue with those freezing sheets.
My tongue got stocked on it. It pilled while trying to withdraw.
