Do you expect him to owe lecturers after subsidy removal?
he is even owing lecturers. It's a known fact. Ask lecturers if they aren't being owed.

•Students are dropping out — Parents

January 18, 2024

Most tertiary institutions in the country have hiked their fees by over 150 %, putting serious strains on the finances of parents and guardians who also have to contend with the poor state of the economy which has reduced purchasing power and savings.

Checks by Vanguard Learning in public universities across the country show that the increment in obligatory fees, which started late last year is continuing, as a new session starts in some schools this January.

Only on January 6, this year, for instance, the Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA, Ondo State came out with a proposal to hike fees by over 100%.

Has Tinubu failed to crash petrol price or not huh

Deltafirstson:
Although the pump price of fuel was N197 when President Bola Tinubu took over on May 29, 2023, the product now sells for N617 per litre – less than two months after.

In his inaugural address, Tinubu announced that subsidy was gone, fulfilling a promise that all leading presidential candidates made during the campaign.

Nigerians have been lamenting the hardship occasioned by fuel price hike. Amid the lamentation, a video where Tinubu campaigned to slash the price of fuel went into circulation.

Checks by Daily Trust affirmed the authenticity of the video uploaded on the YouTube page of Channels Television.

At his campaign rally in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, on January 25, 2023, Tinubu spoke on a number of issues, but those of fuel scarcity and naira redesign made the headlines.

However, Tinubu who spoke in Yoruba language, also assured the crowd that though people were saying petrol price would hit N200, it would be reviewed downward under him.

“The great Nigerian youths, the great Nigerian students, the confident Nigerian youths. This is a revolution. This election is a revolution. They are plotting, but they will fail. They said fuel price will increase and reach N200 per litre. Go and relax, we will bring it down,” he had said in the 7th minute of the video.

ASUU strike durations by administration:

🔴 Obasanjo (1999–2007) — 18 months
🔴 Yar’Adua (2007–2010) — 4 months
🔴 Jonathan (2010–2015) — 13 months
🔵 Buhari (2015–2023) — 21 months
🔵 Tinubu (2023–present) — 9 days

Buhari recorded 21 months of strikes during his eight-year tenure — the highest total since the return to democracy in 1999.

So far, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has recorded only 9 days of nationwide strike action as of May 2026.

You have spoken well and full of wisdom.

It’s not just ASUU staff’s welfare that has deteriorated sharply since the Obasanjo era, it’s also the welfare of Nigerians generally. Back then we had cheap petrol and cheap dollars without high debt burden because of deregulation and privatisation policies.

Is it not rubbish to say the reason lecturers are not striking is because they're hungry? Does that make any sense? Lecturers are actually gainfully employed and receive their salaries every month. Some of them have access to travel around the world on all kinds of educational grants. This is more than you can say for most Nigerians at this time. If they were hungry, would they not down tools? Tinubu has not done well but we should criticize meaningfully. We are not kids anymore.

Good evening

Unfortunately, the students are dropping out of school themselves because their parents can no longer afford to keep them in school.

You should be ashamed of yourself, using strike as an index. One fool said student loans is an achievement because in foreign schools, people take student loan.

WHY IN EARTH SHOULD CITIZENS OF AN OIL RICH COUNTRY TAKE LOANS TO BE EDUCATED.

Why not also include number of ritualists as achievement.

The bar is so low that strike is now an achievement.

Re: One Achievement Of Tinubu. (photo) by HelipsTech: 9:46pm On May 20
Mr Op, ASUU strikes base on failure of government to fulfil agreements. Tinubu only enjoying the results of the struggle during Buhari regime.

Buhari fulfilled 90% of the 2007 agreements, and the exclusion of ASUU from IPPIS, which was a major disagreement at the time.
So say something else.

How about the health sector? What can you say about the strike in Tinubu govt
