Because she would not deny Christ, a militant shot her in the head. Shockingly, the bullet did not kill her, but instead passed through both of her eyes, leaving her blind. The attackers assumed she was dead and left her beside her father, who had been killed in the same attack.

When villagers later came to bury the bodies, they discovered she was still alive.

Although the assault left her blind, it didn't take away her faith in Jesus as she would boldly declare, “They stole my sight, but not my joy.”

And when she was later asked in an interview by Ryan Miller: “What would you say to the man who shot you in the face and took your eyes if they were standing here right now?”

She replied: “I have nothing to do to him. We’d shake hands of love. We would hug each other, we would pray. I don’t hate him in my heart ever because he shot me. I have already forgiven him. I’m praying for him always that God will forgive him and also forgive me too. It's what Jesus teaches us..”

Satan knew Christ would not sin, and yet he tried to tempt him.

Christ had not eaten for 40 days and nights, He was in wilderness to be with the Father and to pray alone with John, baptized Him. At His weakest point, Satan tried to break the saviour. He urged Jesus to do three things:

2. Jump from the pinnacle of the temple so the angels could save Him (Matthew 4:6)
