1. Used to stare into a mortuary.
My uncle had a hospital in the other 2 floors where we lived, and from the top floor you could literally look into the embalming room. Curiosity would always push me to look… then I’d be scared out of my mind at night. Imagine seeing different dead bodies and angry faces.

2. Peeped into an ambulance I had no business looking into.
It had palm fronds in front, so I knew what it meant… but I still looked. Saw something I can still picture till today. On my way to church, of all places.

3. Cut a live extension wire with scissors.
Yes… plugged in. Direct current.
I don’t know how I’m still alive only God saved me fr.

4. Tried to drive my uncle’s car thinking “driving is just driving.”
Ended up hitting the gate immediately I shifted the gear.
Funny thing is, he didn’t even get angry. He corrected me, and when I clocked 15, he started making me drive and correcting my errors. I got my first car at 19 all thanks to him.

Looking back now… I really survived myself.

Touching an electric wire.
I knew it was not right. But there was an electric wire above so i convinced my immediate sister to touch it. It was above so i carried her on my shoulder to touch.
Unfortunately it shocked the both of us.
Meanwhile, i thought i was safe hence i wasnt the one touching it grin
I laughed so hard I nearly bought job.

I usually stare at the sun for almost 30-45 minutes every weekdays for almost two months. I was enjoying it because I could differentiate the sun from the heat emission after long stare, the difference becomes more glaring.
I stopped the day i was coming from a place with friends in the night, when all lights irrespective of the colour (bulbs, street lights, bank design lights, etc.) are all blue from afar but normal when close to the light, and a friend made a statement that my retina is getting damaged because I asked why all lights are blue from afar.
From that day, the only business I have with the sun is to shine on me, dry my clothes and other dryable things, and aid photosynthesis of my crops.😂😂

I once held the uncoated part of a life wire when told by an electrician to link life and neutral together as he was working on our ceiling fan(was like 7 or 8yr old). Then I understand what insulator are meant for.

Thankfully, it resolved naturally... I can't say exactly, but probably by the next day, because I don't remember experiencing the same thing after that first night.
Had similar experience, paracetamol do work

I once tried this too. I saw it in a cartoon.
I only touched my tongue with those freezing sheets.
My tongue got stocked on it. It pilled while trying to withdraw.
That's it. I am sure many others may have tried that too. It's good we survived certain dangerous attempts.

Turns out there's an ending part to that saying, which is "...and satisfaction brought it back".

There's no one as curious as a young child, and for some of us during those young years, we let our curiosity almost lead us astray 😅. So let's do a little throwback to those moments when we really learned the hard way, we excitedly did something or try to find out how something worked, and we have never tried it again since then.

There was this guy that was very tall and I asked him how he was tall, I almost fell for the trick. If I did the thing he said, I wouldn't be writing this now. Indeed, kids think in a different way. I just wanted to be tall, I wasn't thinking about the method.

As an adult, I see how people are desperate to solve their problems without thinking but this is the advantage of education in one's life.

Growing up as a child, because the society then protected children from adult things, I used to think kissing got you pregnant cheesy
That the spit will get into a woman's stomach and germinate there to form a baby grin

I sneaked and touched a live wire behind the back of my school mother in boarding house. It gave me a resounding shock and I never tried it again.

I jumped over barbed wire layed in rows of 15 and the last 4 tore into my flesh,I still have the signs till today.

So I thank God say curiosity no go kee cat

Trying to kill a cobra inside a hole. It would pop out it’s head and I would try to smash it. Then, it started to puff out it’s deadly saliva. It didn't bite; it delivered its malice from afar, projecting a fine, pressurized stream of neurotoxins that hung in the air for a split second before finding its mark straight to my eyes. The whole sky turned grey. And then black. Fortunately my last swing of the cutlass hit its head. I was lucky to have a clear three days after though I was carried home. I was a village boy

Mine was when I went to a Welder's shop to do rabbit cage - Nepo kids no go understand. You know that rectangular iron cage wey dem dey set one kain for inside bush, you'll put corn inside, so if the rabbit (some of una go say na bush rat), enter to eat the corn, the cage to lock.

So, the welder was actually constructing it while I was there, mehn na so I start dey look the light wey dey come out from the electrode thingy o. I just dey admire the thing, dey see the sparks coming out from the welding process. Werey welder man wey suppose be adult nor tell me make I no look am. Na so I carry rabbit cage go house; excited and anxious that by the next morning, I'll be dining and winning on rabbit pepper soup.

That night, I couldn't sleep mehn! It was as if my eyes were being brushed with wooden rods; I couldn't even open my eyes! I be think say I don blind! Eyes wey I norva even use well? Mehn It was a terrible night.

That was when I realized why the welders often wear those special glasses. Since that day, anytime I pass welder shop, I nor dey look them twice. Na COMPOSURE nor dey even make me run 😅
COMPOSURE 😬🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I was 5. My parents taught us not to take anything they didn't permit us to, as that was disobedience and a sin. Out of curiosity, I ate sugar cubes unauthorised. That became my first sin...I carried the guilt in my heart for a very very long time.

Well, I had about 2 rotors then and couple of those small loin batteries weh our papa comot for touch lights ... We go set wire come connect the rotors to make cool speed ... Sometimes we go form paper as fan blade then attached to the rotor head to make some cool breeze jzt for the fun of it... Not only rotors tho, we do connect all those small small touch light "globe" to make bright shiny light too..

So all my batteries I've got has run low and couldn't power any of my little gadget again so I was thinking where I go see better battery like dis...

Nah so I thought about what if I plug the rotor directly to an electric socket.. I'm sure this rotor fan go blow very well and I wouldn't have to worry about using batteries anymore cheesy

I thought I was a genius and just discovered a new thing cry .. baba nah so I go plug rotor to socket Oo.. I put it on but the thing no gree roll undecided

I say make I pick ham up and tangle the head make the thing whine for me jhor shocked .. oh boy! I no know how I take see my sef for chair .. the thing shocked me, turned me upside down and nack me for chair within a second!

I still don't know how it happened till date cuz it was like a flash!! I only make one tiny but loud yeeeee! sound and saw myself on top chair undecided

Nah since then I get phobia for anything electric cool

Breaking our JVC television to remove a gun cry cry

I took a bottle of water to the toilet when I wanted to pee because I thought it was the water that was immediately passed out as urine or it was the amount of water I drank that made me stayed longer when peeing.

I started drinking the water the moment I started peeing with the thought of increasing the amount of pee that came out and also to stay longer.

After finishing both, (peeing and drinking water), I waited for awhile expecting to continue peeing.

In the end, piss no gree come out for almost the rest of the day and this gave me different thoughts in my head.

I got motivated by the way our Intro Tech teacher taught us electricity. I assumed I needed to prove a point to my father that his boy was growing.

I unscrewed a junction box in the house and got confused how the wires were joined together. I mistakenly touched 2 naked wires and the shock was very fast. I didn't know when I ran outside the house and never neared electrical connections again.

Some other time my father bought a fake electric clipper back then. Because I had mastered the art of cutting hairs with 2 combs and a razor blade inside, I tried to trim my father's hair with that confidence and messed up. Many of his neighbors in the market kept asking him which barber did that to him but j protected me.
