South African Pension Officials Visit Dangote Refinery by naptu2(op): 4:11pm On May 21
Dangote Group @DangoteGroup

Representatives of South Africa’s Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF), alongside the Public Investment Corporation (PIC), recently visited the Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals and Dangote Fertiliser Limited as interest continues to grow around Africa-led industrialisation and long-term infrastructure investment.

The visit reflects a broader shift taking place across the continent; one where African institutions are increasingly looking inward to support large-scale projects capable of strengthening energy security, industrial capacity, food systems, and regional economic resilience.

As the refinery moves towards its forthcoming IPO, engagements like this reinforce the growing recognition of strategic infrastructure as a critical driver of Africa’s long-term growth and economic transformation.

You can't blame them. They're fighting for their lives. They know they're lazy and not innovative and therefore can't compete. What do you want them to do??

It is not only poor people, their politicians e.g minister of sports and interiors, and other notable people in their country have come out to support the xenophobia, are they poor?

Nairaland is not the only social media, explore elsewhere or consult Google.

They are local politicians ...majority of the xenophobia are from poor people.

International capital does not discriminate, it goes where it is needed.

Pls get sense,

Those people will not hesitate to trash anything Nigeria be it international or whatever, if we have a big investment like mtn in their country, those people will not hesitate to pressure their government to sell the investment cheaply and chase us out, of which their government will definitely do.

Dont pointlessly argue unnecessarily.
Re: South African Pension Officials Visit Dangote Refinery by Mirasteel: 4:59pm On May 21
Rich black South Africans aren't xenophobic, it's only the poor and lazy ones that are xenophobic.
Re: South African Pension Officials Visit Dangote Refinery by Reference(m): 5:00pm On May 21
The views on this matter above are just terrible.
You don't prove you are bigger by belittling yourself. Granted our foreign clout has been severely diminished by poor governance over the near decades but wherever we are opportuned to project power we should without reservation.

Take an example off the diplomatic pages of your favourite frenemy, the United States. They will get into bed with just about ANYONE as long as they are able to project power and influence to fund their massive economic machine.

We need this industrialist to bring in the bacon. That is his job. Let us hold government to account concerning the human angle and the sad things happening to foreigners in that country. We are bigger than this.

Awon investors. This Dangote's refinery is bigger than imagined. God make funds available make person benefit from this National Cake.
Re: South African Pension Officials Visit Dangote Refinery by Reference(m): 5:02pm On May 21
Mirasteel:
Rich black South Africans aren't xenophobic, it's only the poor and lazy ones that are xenophobic.
And it cuts both ways. It is the downtrodden foreigners that are mainly victims of the savage attacks. Meaning that we should get our country working to lift the economic status of the average citizen so he travels abroad to play with the right peers.

I hope they will not come and say they refinery resemble the one that is missing from their country
