I regretted bringing my family over here.
It has been from one issues to another and from one police case to another..infact I am leaving in debt now for another 10 years just because of helping my family.!!! The worst is that the family member is misbehaving without understanding the full impact and consequences of their actions at work !

The problem is not going abroad the problem is about getting a permanent resident in those countries. If he leaves max is 2 years visa then when he gets there what happens?

These countries are tightening their immigrantion policies every day

All this will make a difference. Probably ur friend went with Express entry or went witj school visa in 2019, 2020 the golden years of Canada for immigrants


Canada of today is by the grace of God, same with US and UK there is anti immigrant policy that has takek wave lately making it harder for immigrants to settle

So get started with him first. The process will enable you make an informed decision because you will learn a lot about him, about yourself and about you both working together. The answer lies there.

Is it common, no.
What are the chances of it happening for an average person. These are the real scenarios that have ked many to throw caution to the wind and some paying the ultimate price in dangerous misadventures.

The best way to start is fir her to know the person she is dealing with. Start the brother on a program of enterprise here and see how he manages himself and the resources given.

In a short while she will know whether the big step up is viable. So she can let him go and not worry about sending a rescue mission to bring him back from 'space'

You can only choose to live that lifestyle if you didn't go through the right path from Nigeria. How do you expect to work or live a comfort ife with a visit or conference visa? You either go through skilled route or study visa then Canada will smile at you

Even when I go obodo oyinbo, place weh I de stay 90% of naija people for that side no fit near there, last last unless them be janitor or delivery driver.

Don't allow people who have not done business in Nigeria neither have they left the country to advice you.... I always tell people if you have the opportunity to leave Nigeria do not hesitate the abnormal in Nigeria are outrageous in number so they control the normals making things difficult for the good average Nigerians, that's why you see bad leader everywhere in Nigeria it is because of the abnormal people who vote, form thuggery & snatch ballots box for them....

I have a friend who used to have a business here in Nigeria, her business was doing like N50-60m annually. She moved to Canada with her Family and continued the business there. After a year in Canada she closed the Nigeria branch because it wasn’t easy running a business in 2 continents. It took about 1year to get the business stable(legalities, office, equipments, marketing) but the business is doing great now bringing in 10k - 20k CAD monthly and she and her family are okay. But this babe is an entrepreneur, she sabi hustle so it didn’t come as a surprise to me that she was able to pull it off in Canada too. She would have been the best person to advise you.

Personally I think it’s because she has something upstairs and since she was able to make it Lagos, so she can make it anywhere.

So my question is does you brother have something upstairs? And how strongly do you believe he make it in Canada?

Honestly, I wouldn’t advise putting the full ₦15M into either option immediately.

For business in Nigeria:
Don’t invest blindly. Let him first develop skills, learn the trade, and start small with maybe ₦1M–₦2M to test and gain experience before pumping bigger money. You can keep the rest in a low-risk money market investment or the Nigerian Stock Market for Now.

For Canada:
People underestimate the cost. ₦15M may not even be enough to relocate and live comfortably for 2–3 months, and there’s no guarantee of getting a job immediately.

The real question is:
What skills does he have to make money anywhere?

I’ve done business in Nigeria and also lived abroad. One thing I can say is both paths require patience. There’s no magic country.

Build skills first, then make long-term moves wisely. He can even start learning French now which may later open better PR pathways to Canada legally and strategically.

Invest the money here in Nigeria and use the returns to sponsor him (if there's still a need for that). There are a lot of businesses you can do and the returns will yield more than what someone over there is earning. While some Nigerians are successful abroad, some others are just there earning at a mid level and others really wished they could return home but they can't due to shame and insecurity in the country. If you understood why the Nigerian billionaires and millionaires intentionally stay and invest in the country, then you would have understood me..

You can do that if you ain’t expecting return on investment, if reverse is the case build yourself up first.

Canada of today is not like Canada before covid, is he skilled in the areas where there is an urgent professional deficit and strong job opportunities?

The N15M is this the entire sum to invest in him or just his POF. Have you converted the N15M to Canadian dollars to ascertain how much it is? Are you aware of the cost of living crisis in Canada now.
Can he support himself for the next 6 months if he doesn't get a job?
