We all have that one bank app that has embarrassed us at the worst possible moment.
You're at the counter trying to pay. The app crashes. You're sending urgent money to someone. The app says "transaction failed" but your account is debited. You're trying to check your balance. The app is "undergoing maintenance" for the third day in a row.
Nigerian bank apps have put us through genuine suffering and we need to talk about it.
So which bank app is the worst in 2026?

Moniepoint is really messing up these days!! The app keeps failing transfers and it keeps requiring me to refresh almost everytime.

UBA is the worst. it looks like something done in the medieval period

I have only used FirstBank, UBA, GTBank, Zenith, Premium Trust Bank, Wema Bank APP .

But UBA is my worst App

moniepoint everyday transaction pending,pending
incomplete end of the day - deleting transanction anyhow

OPAY is the best that's for sure. 99.99% uptime. UBA is the worst for me. I was embarrassed by UBA at shoprite one day when the card refused to work and app refused to work. Meanwhile people were on the line waiting for me. At the end I left everything I wanted to buy at the counter and left empty handed. I never used UBA since that day

Vulte is the worst bank app. Non negotiable

The guy that designed Firstbank app needs to be flogged. Very poor UI

VULTe app is worst bank as of now

Heaven knows it's vulte, Polaris bank... Everything about them is backward, it will even show you not online/offline status

Wema Bank App.... Is the worst and most frustrating app you can ever used.

How can a client be "Invalid". But, they will still collect deposits on the account.

Most commercial bank apps are shitty with their UI, only few got it right and even with that the service delivery on their app is near to zero.

If I'm to rank, Polaris, FBN, Ecobank (so called 5.0, business app and MySME app) are just terrible.

UBA should come both first and last.
So that anyhow you start the ranking UBA should always come first.

Zenith bank app is so in the stone age!! Ordinary transaction receipt, you can't generate in the app!! Seriously? In 2026?? No be small thing o! Even the Vulte app being ridiculed here is way better than zenith mobile app.

If it's not vulte,then no bank can match that nonsense.
I have been 🔒 🔐 Locked out of the app for 3wks now.
Invalid user is what it keeps displaying.
What a mess!

It is too early to judge because the best by my opinion has been experiencing service disruption since last week. This is the first time in about two years thst I will have any issue with their app.

My stanbic ibtc is doing well, they just almost fumbled with the recent update but with customers complaints, they fixed the errors.

Vulte from Polaris Bank is the worse thing to happen to humanity...
That bank should be closed and turned into a zoo or museum, their staff and personal are more archaic than dinosaurs.
Their staff are so useless, morale very low...

My 41k is still in their bank all because they just change their app overnight and i lost the sim card. My Gmail was linked o but theem no gree send otp code to email.

no one talk bad about sterling bank i guess it’s still one of d best bank in Nigeria but Opay comes first
