Rapmoney:
Never use this expression: 'I flashed her' or 'I flashed him' when you find yourself in a country where standard English is spoken. Examples are the United Kingdom, US, Australia, Canada, etc.

REASON: It might be a slang for saying you called someone and hang up quickly for them to call you back in Nigeria, but in these countries, it means to show someone your unclothedness or nude, which is a very serious crime

WHAT TO SAY INSTEAD: The standard English for that expression is 'I gave him or her a missed call' or 'I gave him or her a quick ring'.

I hope you have learnt something today?
This is very true. The term "flash" is uniquely Nigerian and does NOT translate to any other country on earth.

Your correction is not all that perfect.

Just say “I called him/her briefly"

Even British guys speak terrible english sometimes, we have stuff like 'i will ring her back" instead of "I will call her back"

Poster thought it's NTN service which defraud Nigrrians with drop calls. In MTN call goes through at times but you cannot see or hear your opposite....until the N6000 recharged data finishes.

When you see a useless and mediocre post, move ahead to other posts. You must not comment. Stop fooling yourself.

- "I will ring her back" is absolutely perfect grammar in Britain.👌🏽 Except if you speak made-up English language like they do in the USA, Canada and other anglophone countries.

Oga Seun, @SeunOsewa, the earlier you admit that 80% of users on Nairaland are no longer active, the better for you. They are only here to read and go— like guests! Look at the kind of wishy-washy topics gracing your once “almighty” front page — sad! Most topics these days do not even go beyond two or three pages, max!

Seun, you are my brother, and I will tell you nothing but the real truth behind the dwindling fortune of your forum: there are enemies within — people on your payroll — as well as your bots. People can no longer freely express themselves. It is either a biased, overzealous moderator picks on someone and slams them with a needless ban, or your bots do the exact same thing.

Bro, you cannot continue running this great platform like that! I will be very blunt with you: you have some highly sadistic ethnoreligious bigots on your payroll.

I come in peace.
