MTN always does this nonsense. Same thing they did when they launched 5G routers in September 2022. I recall correctly that at first, the 5G routers weren't paired with the power bank. Initial customers were later called to come and collect the power bank after they started pairing them with power bank.

Have you confirmed yourself that you are getting up to 100Mbps? I thought it ships with 50Mbps.

Each NIN is allowed 4 sims per network, so you can't register more than 4 sims on the mtn network.

Each NIN is allowed 4 sims per network, so you can't register more than 4 sims on the mtn network.

As I said, this is my second purchase. I posted about it on the Airtel thread almost a month ago. I got a 100 Mbps bonus out of the box.

The power pack is somehow useless because it can't fully power the device on its own. If you try to use the power bank alone, you'll likely experience reboots or connection problems. The solution is simple: just plug in the device with the power adapter as well.

People should go to Airtel ODU page and see real picture taking at home with the ODU , u will see normal home things in the picture like tv, socket extension, , general things you find at home , not this generic internet picture

This man, is everything okay at home? Something that is available at MTN head offices already. I will probably get it on Monday. It's being handled by the MTN broadband team at the moment, that's why it's not available everywhere. Most customer care assistants aren't even aware of it.

I bought it in Lagos and first images were the ones I was sent. I just received it this evening.

First thing,it doesn't come with data and MTN customer service doesn't know why. I called 300 and the call was transferred to 217(they actually called me back). The agent I spoke with said he doesn't have any idea if it actually comes with data. I subscribed to one week data to test it and I got 100% bonus.

So until then, take care

It doesn't according to the YouTube review. Has the SIM card been linked to your NIN? It might require further activation before the router can be provisioned for unlimited services.

if you say that. Meanwhile I haven't experienced the reboot yet. However, I am yet to get the activation bonus. Although I inserted the SIM it came with inside a phone first to confirm the registration (call the number for a few seconds).

I don't know if that's the problem

If you don't receive the former, then I don't know to resolve that.

Do not buy this device without them activating it at the point of sale. You will end up with just regular router with regular SIM card. Right now, MTN is trying to see if they can remotely activate the ODU service on the SIM card. Outside of that, I will have to return it to the point of purchase

you're working for a company and keeping yourself abreast of what the company is doing is the basic stuff you can do for yourself. You're developing yourself and not the company.

If you tell them what's happening with your network, their most powerful weapon is "reboot your phone"

This sounds like you have never worked in environments where products are just released without involving internal stakeholders.

You wake up to certain behaviours within the system, only for you to inquire and find out that the product guys have launched another product that you don't even know how it works yet.

You now have to start working on getting to understand its operations while it's already in the production phase, which creates more risk.

There is something called knowledge sharing within workspaces. When a product is newly launched, and even old products, there should be sessions assigned to create a robust understanding of these products, because you as a staff member, you can never get the understanding needed to support the business or customers from the outside in, but rather from the inside out.

don't do it sir. You have to do certain setups on the router to actually make use of it. Right now, I just dey call MTN back to back to fix what I should I have at the point of purchase
