I just got onboarded less than 1 hour after making a payment this morning. The installation has been completed, and my router is blinking green.

Currently waiting to receive an internet connection.

Update.

8 hours after my installation today, my router is now connected to the internet. Speed is blazing fast.

For anyone tracking fibre installs, keeping simple screenshots of the router status page and speed tests over time helps a lot when talking to support. I also keep a compact AI image and video reference here for preparing visual notes: https://www.chinaai.app

An update on the above post. So I switched on my router this morning and saw that I could browse with it. I had switched off my router after my subscription had ended and service was restored . I had been checking my fibreX dashboard to see if they have compensated me for the down time and up until this morning it was still saying that I had no ongoing plan and that my wallet was zero, because I had called customer care to request for a compensation of down time which amounted to 21days and the lady I spoke to had told me that I'll see the credit on my dash board when I'm compensated. So mtn has compensated me after all without my knowledge
their communication seems poor

They will block your number immediately after installation, knowing fully well you will have issues in the future. I even tipped my own engineer 10k when he came to install. When one truck cut my cable the next week, I called him to explain to him. He said he will call me back then blocked me on whatsapp and normal calls
omo thats cold

Before when they started they were even always notifying us and send us messages when the current subscription is about to expire.

Now they don't even send messages anymore, the connection will just end and leave you stranded, and when you check that is when you realize your sub has expired 🤦🏽‍♂️

The whole thing is shite
typical nigerian business model....

they just started on our street, then i stumbled upon this thread....now am no longer excited

Before MTN gets to the level of Starlink in terms of customer service, it will take 80 years

Those using Starlink can confirm this. Starlink treats us like eggs from day 1 till now

Some people that were thinking of switching from Starlink to MTN quickly had rethink when they started seeing negative reviews and frustrating comments from users grin
Re: MTN FibreX - Installation, Speed Tests, Availability, And All You Need To Know by Bossman(m): 2:35pm On May 22
Customer service does NOT exist in Nigeria period! Banks, Telecom operators, etc. What they fail to understand is that it's the customers that are keeping them in business and paying their salaries. Without the customers they will cease to exist.

I quite agree with you. When you start patronizing typical Nigerian entrepreneur (even a foreign one based here), they start thinking they are doing you a favour and misbehaving massively.

I don't blame them, it's the rot and decay in our institution. If our institutions are strong and solid, everyone of them will fall in line

You can as well go for the MTN ODU if FibreX isn't available in your location, it's currently being rolled out.

Well so long you are relocating to where there's fibreX coverage, there won't be any problem...just call 217 or if you still have the phone number of the installer who install the fibre for you in the first place...put a call through him...he sure can be of help

We have coverage in some part of Agric Ikorodu. To be sure you have it your location simply look out for poles that have boxes(FAT) attached to it.

For visual notes around installations, I have found it useful to keep reference photos and turn them into quick 3D drafts before sharing layouts with a team. This tool has been practical for that workflow: https://www.trellis-3d.net/

AFTER EXTENSIVELY READING ALL REVIEWS, I WILL STICK WITH THE AIRTEL ODU EVEN THOUGH THE UNLIMITED IS CAPPED AT 1TB. THE ONLY REASON AM SAYING I WONT GO FOR THE MTN FIBRE IS BECAUSE OF THE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND IT TAKES A LONG TIME FOR ANY CUT OR INFRASTRUCTURE DOWNTIME TO BE RESOLVED. MTN NEEDS TO WORK ON THAT
Re: MTN FibreX - Installation, Speed Tests, Availability, And All You Need To Know by ai3dmodel: 5:52pm On Jun 04
For anyone tracking FibreX installation issues, keeping a short note of the red-light status, ticket number, dates, and speed-test screenshots helps a lot when following up with support. I use https://www.klingaimotioncontrol.com for organizing AI video motion reference notes, but the same checklist habit applies here too: document the problem clearly before each call.
